Wallace
If Austin ends up at West Ham, I wonder what that means for Carroll. Will they get rid or just keep him as a (very expensive) squad player.
STM
Thought West Ham weren't interested? I think he will end up here. Just a case of the fee IMO. Then again, it will be interesting if Bournemouth or Leicester stump up the 15m. Will force us to move.

From our point of view he's probably the sort of English player we can compete for as the bigger clubs won't be in for him except as a bench warmer. He might not be the best player ability wise, but he has shown that he can score goals in the premier. It's probably as good as we can reach for right now without actually really going for it. Mole_Toonfan
Taking a step back its sad how far we've fallen when the the potential signing of Charlie Austin excites so many. but this is us now? what on earth do you expect? messi? suarez? we are s**** and this is our level. Nope but i expect a lot more than this and i should do.
Guest Geordiesned
Simon Bird has finally responded to questions about his Austin "done deal" story from weeks back. He says he was told Austin was "top target". So why the hell report it as a done deal then???

Guest
He'll go to the highest bidder. If someone goes in with say £13m and no-one bids more, they'll sell. Chances are if a few clubs are keen though it'll edge up towards £15m anyway.
LoveItIfWeBeatU
With 1 year to run on his contract there's no way he's staying at QPR unless they are happy for him to run his contract down and leave on a free. He could help them get instant promotion back to the Premiership but I doubt he wants to play another season in the Championship.

toontownman
Sir Les trying not to blink. They will sell come the end of the window, likely for less than 15m, no way he is staying put. Spending 15m abroad can buy you a lot more talent than Austin. Clubs will be thinking it might well be worth the gamble going for someone younger that doesn't have premiership experience but far greater potential. There's too much money and dross in the PL plus a lack of proven goal scorers for someone not to pay it. He'd walk in to 9-10 teams in the league. Problem is, strikers have been bough for tens of millions from clubs abroad with impeccable goalscoring reputations and have completely failed in the PL. To some extent Austin's a proven commodity. Yes he is but he can be signed for £15m less in a year.
sbnufc
Seeems it's the Guardian saying Palace Crystal Palace are poised to enter the bidding for the Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin by submitting an offer of £6m plus a couple of players. Palace, who also retain a strong interest in Chelsea’s Loïc Rémy, would be willing to use Fraizer Campbell, Adrian Mariappa, Barry Bannan and/or Adlène Guedioura in part-exchange.
