Tubestationatmidnight
It's been said that he has been staying back in training and doing additional work and generally I think he is channelling his aggression a lot better now than he was previously. Against Blackburn where he had an alright first half he made one or two mistakes and left the pitch at half time noticeably downbeat. He cares and maybe that's to his detriment sometimes as he sulks. Hence the poor second half. In that game though Shelvey played CB half the game and we continuously humped it long to Mitro' despite the fact he was having no joy and actually no one was feeding off the poor lad. As has been mentioned we're desperate for a better quality number 10 or at least Perez or Diame need to up their games. I don't think Mitro is the finished article but I also don't think it is fair to right him off. Gayle is our best striker undoubtedly but Mitro can and will do a job for us in this division. We need a CB, CM and ST should we get promoted and actually as someone stated for Mitro it might be better that he moves at that point. I suspect that he won't receive better coaching than under Rafa here though. I would say a winger would be more of a priority than the last 3 as we would be left with Ritchie and gouffran. A lack of a quality number 10 is our biggest weakness and I was astounded we didn't get one last window.
Tubestationatmidnight
He needs to play in a country where the pace and tempo is slower. You can't have someone that slow as your main striker, his lack of any pace is chronic. Definitely. Even clubs who play one big striker up top make sure they are mobile. Mitrovic just lacks so much movement
Menace
I like Mitro, but if we were able to sell him for profit, I would.

Sima
West Ham and Palace both after him for 15m in January apparently. I think both would be better off going for Defoe tbh.

Rompe
How come he is our most effective player in form of assist/goal pr minute if he is that bad? What does that say about the rest of our players, should we get rid of all our attacking players then?

Winn
I think he is a decent player even at his young age. He has lots of potential. He is good at holding up the ball and brilliant at bringing players into play. Hes good in the air and obviously has the passion, fight and desire. I really do think over the next couple of years he will add more goals to his game making him a valuable asset. Like many others I would like to see him and Gayle play together. St1pe
I really don't get people sometimes. Mitrovic is still young, he scored a reasonable amount of goals last season given his inexperience he is improving. More importanlty, for the first time in years we actually have real alternatives in play style so Rafa can rotate the strikers for the situation. I might be getting a bit ahead of myself here but if we get promoted I think both Mitrovic and Gayle will be at a stage under Rafa where they'll both be good enough for a Premier league level. Both need to improve but I haven't seen anything to suggest they won't.
jimmymag
He's painfully slow which will always hinder him in the Premiership. Oh, and he's a crap finisher.
The College Dropout
He's about one tenth the athlete Diego Costa is, unfortunately. Not his game to play like that. Aye, hopefully he can improve. But a big facet to Costa's game is being stronger and faster than most defenders ala Didier.
Pons Alias
He's a less effective Duncan Ferguson.
The College Dropout
Time will tell with the lad. I can't see him being ahead of Gayle ever for Rafa though. And I would be surprised if Gayle himself was our #1 next season.
Tiotes Witch Doctor
Are people STILL slating him? Came in scored goals had maybe one bad game and here we are again
Ronaldo
Granted I've just skimmed through the last couple of pages but I don't think anyone's really slating him.
DJ_NUFC
For the Mitro fanboys any sort of measured criticism, even ones mitigated his age and newness to the country, is "slating." It's the whole Ronaldo / Dummett syndrome all over again. Ron.

STM
Hate to say it but I can't help but thinking his career here is dead in the water. He will probably see out the season but not the summer. It will be off to Italy or somewhere I reckon. Ultimately, I don't think he has the engine or the skill for the premiership and "age" just won't cut it for me. Shame because he is a great character.
