Si
He's in his car trying to leave the city but it's taking ages as he's hit every red on the way.
Guest Howaythetoon
I don’t get the admittedly small love in for him, I really don’t. Done fuck all worthy in our colours and this so called passion... most of the players have displayed this under Rafa. He’ll go back to Belgium, Greece or Turkey and do relatively well. Best case for him, with an obscure Serie A side where he gets into double figures and becomes a cult hero before a move to Roma or somewhere where he’ll be benched. Anyway I wish him well. jdckelly
He was as often a liability as an asset on the field. He was probably worth a try at some stage in the last few months since we've found goals so hard to come by but ultimately we're not the one's seeing him every day in training. Guest Howaythetoon
He has been underused here mind and for me has been wasted. Liability or not, he’s better than all but Gayle and during our relegation season he was probably one of our most contributive players.
Guest chopey
My biggest disappointment with him was that he was crap in the championship when I thought he would rip it up.
Guest Howaythetoon
My biggest disappointment with him was that he was crap in the championship when I thought he would rip it up. Players like him need full confidence and a full run of games, catch 22 really.
Guest neesy111
He'll go to any league bar here or Spain and comfortably be a 15-20 goal a season striker within 2 years. Absolute rubbish. He couldn't hit a barn door in the championship.
TRon
He'll go to any league bar here or Spain and comfortably be a 15-20 goal a season striker within 2 years. I agree, but that's because he can bully defenders in those leagues, I had doubts whether he could even do that in the championship, and he struggled to when he played. I do think he should have been given more opportunity this season, but ultimately I never really thought he was a Premier level striker so can understand why we are letting him go. Dr Venkman
He’s just not very good. Won’t be missed.
HaydnNUFC
Not really arsed about the news. We've known it for ages tbh.
Altamullan
He’s going to do a Jon Dahl Tomasson isn’t he. Probs not; rumours were Jon Dahl was the best finisher at the club (in training) and Mitro worst (same). Former was clearly confidence (as with Tobin, FWIW). Latter, fair bit of both. I do think he’ll feature at the top level, somewhere. But not here or comparable. Really wish him well, love the radgy-passion combo; hate the relegation-sealing chance missing. madras
Just think he could have been used better than he has been and when he has played we've rarely tried to play a game to suit him (except when he cam on for the Norwich comeback).
Raconteur
It says everything to me that Rafa purchased and played a carthorse like Joselu rather than playing an ineffective carthorse in Mitrovic. And rightly so. Joselu gets lots of stick on here, but he is a far superior option than Mitrovic (in Rafa's style). Good fucking riddance. Maybe we can get Murphy back with the fee - someone who might contribute to the team effort.
Yorkie
All very well him saying this but I sincerely hope we've got someone lined up to take him off our hands.
Stottie
An ultimately frustrating player, whose underlying ability was not enough to justify his transgressions. A good shout as the worst exponent of the "dark arts" in the game. You are supposed to get away with winding the other team up, and use the resulting marginal gain to help you win games. With Mitro, it was a case of keep doing it till you get in trouble. His ban this season came from his cards being marked as much as from the actual incident, but regardless of the "why", its the team as a whole who suffers. Nobody
Don't dislike him at all, but unfortunately it's good riddance. Rafa doesn't rate him, and that's all that matters tbh.
Deuce
Doesn't change the fact that we need a first-choice striker. Gayle's an adequate backup and Joselu is, charitably, 3rd-choice at this level. Hopefully under the moronic transfer system that we employ here, Mitro out means someone else is on the way in. Ketsbaia
Shame it's turned out like this, but Rafa really doesn't rate him. I can see him going to Besiktas to replace Cenk Tosun, where he'll be a huge success.

toontownman
Think he will do well with a run of games and a coach and system that likes him, outside of the premier league. Barely considered him a player for us this year as Rafa clearly never rated him. Wish him all the best though. Think his temperament really cost him his place here more than anything else. Zero
This could back fire massively if we couldn't get a replacement in. I am a bit amazed by the optimism here to be honest. I know the take over talk has raised people's hope in Jan but we are Newcastle United man, we always got the worst thing to happen. Selling Mitro and nth else to come in could seal our fate. Tiotes Witch Doctor
Has been disgracefully treated IMO. He is no world beater, but we've needed something different in games, games we've lost with a whimper due to no attacking prowess, and Mitrovic could have provided that extra spark as he did in championship games where he came on and held the ball up or assisted, or put himself about. No idea what the story is but not using him has potentially cost us the odd point here and there, I could be wrong but neither Joselu or Gayle have scored as many as Mitrovic (9) in a single premier league season, seems mental not to use him at all. Not that bothered if he now goes aslong as we replace him well but I don't think it had to be like this. (Just waiting to get shouted at for daring questioning Rafa)
Dr Venkman
Disgusting We owe him nothing. Our manager doesn’t trust him, so he doesn’t play.
