Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles, 29, is a target for Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab. The English defender has slipped down the pecking order at St James' Park and could be tempted by the offer of first-team football. (TEAMtalk)

Depending on the fee, would they be prepared to go with Murphy/Krafth/Dummett/Burn as back up until January ?

Captain of a champions league team, should command a few around 50million right

It would be buttons.  Al-Shabab aren’t owned by the PIF - they don’t have megabucks to spend.

There's obviously a fee that outweigh the negatives of leaving us short at CB cover, but I don't think that fee is something we'll be able to justify as fair market value or whatever the term used is. He'll stay.

All clubs in Saudi have been given money from the Sports minister. It’s just the PIF owned clubs have been given a blank chequebook.

Even lower leagues teams in Saudi are being given money to buy players from our EFL teams, and even non-league players.

They'd need to have absolute trust that Murphy could step up and do the job at a moment's notice, because none of those others would be up to it. Unless we are just writing off the games against strikers with pace.
