Newcastle Fan
It looks like he spent his time on the bench lifting weights and training for the WWE rather than football, how the fuck can a 29 athlete at the top level be this slow.
toon25
Glad we replaced him. Fucking awful.
mouldy_uk
Should be left in his best position… The touchline harassing opposition players and the officials
Jonas
Bloke was offside but Lascelles was sluggish, docile even in his attempts to do anything about it and that's not asking much phyiscally more mentally which just compounded his overall performance were physically he looked like he was on the water planet on Interstellar. He's one of those that makes his partners nervous too.
La Parka
Leave him as a cheerleader.
NWMag
Thought he was good today. Was dreading it when I saw him in the team but felt he did well and is a lot more composed on the ball.
HaydnNUFC
Aye, not been looking forward to the games he's started (Liverpool and Man City both away from home) and he's looked competent at least in both. Was our best defender today.

Didn't think he looked any more composed on the ball than usual, but he defended well, and finally we had someone to attack the set pieces again. AyeDubbleYoo
He’s a fine player, not as bad as people think. If we could control possession more I’d almost pick him just for attacking headers. The Schar successor has to provide some kind of aerial threat IMO.
joeyt
Thought he was fine today, considering he's barely played this season
Menace
Was looking for his thread funnily enough. I think he's fine when called upon and has dealt with being benched really well considering he's our captain. Have absolutely no problem with him staying here as a squad player. Pretty sure his family are well settled here also
STM
I'd be tempted to leave him in the side. He's a genuine threat from set pieces and we need goals. Na, fuck that. Bring Schar back.
Myleftboot
I think he did well as long as he doesn’t try to play football.
Mikky
Did anyone notice in stoppage time when Man City had them corners - he and Maxi came to take the ball from the corner but Lascelles stood on Maxi - Maxi proceeded to make a meal or it and got absolutely bollocked by Lascelles to the extent he got up right away
nufcjb
You're right @STM. Schar and Botman are fucking wank at setplays. I'd be tempted to play Lascelles in home games against the likes of Wolves. He does have leadership qualities, gets players and the crowd motivated. Botman and Burn can have a rest too if needed. Myleftboot
Thought it was great when ASM must have had his foot stood on near the end of the match and went to go off the pitch and lascelles told him to get up.

toon25
Aye, was very good and knew where to apply a bit of pressure on that cunt Haaland. Proved me wrong today and I love that.

Geordie Boyo
Thought he played well today. Normally can be caught out and makes wrong decisions. His attributes did show more so today. He may have earned his spot for now for another game with Schar possibley ready to come off the bench if needed.
Lush Vlad
Did really well, I thought. Fair play, I thought he was going to be the weak link. But he was our best defender on the day and proved me well and truly wrong. Edited March 4, 2023 by Lush Vlad
Klaus
We all knew his strengths and weaknesses. He is a good leader/strong/good for set penis, but on the other is clumsy and lacks confidence on the ball. Glad to hear he had a good game, considering the opposition. TRon
I thought it was a nice touch that he was given the captain's armband again even when he's not figured much this season. Says a lot about his character and the respect he commands in the dressing room. He's not a polished CB by any means, but he doesn't ever hide. And he's a bit of a hard cunt which should never be underestimated given where he plays.
r0cafella
Btw he’s improved massively on the ball. He’s still not premier league standard with the ball at his feet but he’s come on massively. Not easy to try and play out from the back vs Citeh
