Nee idea whether that picture of him getting into that silver suv is genuine or not, BUT, if it is then that's Hotel Indigo which I'd say is a definite downturn in style from The Hilton where Mitrovic was staying.

It's not bad by all accounts, even has a Marc Pierre White restaurant.

The Hilton is hardly the best hotel in Newcastle in anyway.

The Hilton isn't even in Newcastle, it's in Gateshead.

I agree Hotel Indigo is a decent looking Boutique hotel, it's just the back lane which serves as it's entrance behind the O2 isn't all that nice.

Still think The Hilton is better mind, certainly has a better name worldwide.

Paris pretty much fucked that up for them...

Going further back, I can remember Paul Parker being an effective central defender at 5'7". Some players have an abnormally good leap on them.

Paul Parker initially made his name as a sweeper at QPR but was better known as a right back at Man United and for England.

He was never really a traditional centre back.

He autographed my programme outside Loftus Road the day Gazza got sent off for us around 1987ish and 5' 7" is pushing it a bit, he was tiny!

I seem to remember that Fenwick was the sweeper, and Parker was one of the markers. Either way, he could beat opponents in the air who were far taller.

The other one I can remember was Steve Perryman, who played at CB for Spurs in the early 80s. He was a similar height, but could still challenge well in the air, and he had the advantage of nimble movement on the ground, which he shared with Parker.

Steve Perryman was a full back and in his younger days, a midfielder, never a centre half. He wore the 6 shirt which is possibly confusing you.

I am 100000000% sure I am right about this. Perryman started off in central midfield, but in the last few years of his career played at centre back for Spurs. And very well too.

No he didn't. Roberts, Lacy, Miller and Paul Price were Spurs' centre halves during that period

Of course he may have played there on rare occasion, just as Paul Ince played right back for Manchester United on rare occasion.

Paul Parker wrote this article..... in June.. it starts....

"Liverpool finished second in 2013-14 but, let’s be honest: that was a freak result that meant nothing. Luis Suarez dragged them there.

However, Liverpool knew he would be going but they did not prepare for it. They were never going to compete this season."

Another one from an article called: What you need to do to stop Lionel Messi.. Paul:The only way you can stop Lionel Messi is by trying your best as a team to stop him getting the ball to his feet. You need to stop him getting the ball in space and running at your team, because if you don't you are in trouble.

Mascherano is only 5ft 8.

Pique is 6"4.  Didn't we agree that exceptional players are fine at CB despite being a tad on the short side, but they tend to get partnered with giants?
