Klaus
This is a good appointment for them like, I would have had him here before pigs decided to fly and Rafa came here instead

Guest chopey
He's got a lot to prove after his last two jobs, but if he gets it right you can cast iron guarantee he'll move on.
mrmojorisin75
it'll be interesting to see if/how fast he can improve them tbh, things took their sweet time at everton but i'd imagine their days of relegation battles are over for a while
TRon
Best appointment they could have hoped for. Safe and boring, will suit them down to the ground.
Thomson Mouse
Not sure how 'safe' he is really after his last two jobs. He absolutely needs this to count otherwise he'll struggle trying to stand out from the other PFMs
toontownman
Interesting appointment. Depends how much money he gets. Will have a lot to prove, could very well solidify them in the premier league now. Mackems will be over the moon.

Not sure that's based on much. 3 jobs, f***ed two them up I think it will suit him being there. Man U job was too big for him and never know when managing a foreign team. Will take a lot of work to make them mid-table though as will need to clear out a lot of shite even if them lot think they are class. He brought through a few youngsters at Everton as well including Coleman, Barkley, Rooney, Rodwell and made them very hard to beat, he didn't often start their season until January though which will suit these lot and he did spend a fair bit no matter what is said. Thomson Mouse
He did very well at Preston in the lower leagues, whether you could count that as relevant now....
Figures 1-0 Football
There is so much more to it now, behind the scenes effects the management more than ever. Rafa is a prime example with us, he's demanded control over everything - the every day manager does not get that, Moyes will 100% not get that at the mackems. Only a few weeks ago, Fat Sam was bleating to the press about a lack of signings, money, ambition etc. Is that all going to change over night? Absolutely not. Moyes will need time and control to turn the mackems around, I don't think he'll get either. They'll struggle again next year.

Benwell Lad
While this may be a marriage made in heaven can't really understand why it's being classed as a good appointment. Had either party had many options maybe but wasn't this more like the two ugly fuckers at 2.30 in the morning at the wedding party who really had no other options ? Jimburst
I know this isn't a typical Newcastle fan view but in all honesty, as long as we get back up and competing for the top half again, I would love Sunderland to have a proper manager and to be competing with us for decent finishes. I'm absolutely sick of North East football being the worst in the top flight. All this with the caveat that I hope he and they fail if we remain shit / Rafa leaves. mighty__mag
Think Moyes could be perfect for them, decent appointment. Derby's will be fun Rafa v Moyes.
