Greg
Better to move it to Manchester/Liverpool surely Not really, some pretty decent players sign for s*** clubs in London just because they are in London. That doesn't apply to Manchester or Liverpool. It'll mean the Manchester United/Everton reserves don't need to move house when they sign for them though
LoveItIfWeBeatU
"famed for its freezing weather" Which soft shit thinks it's "freezing" in the North East? Imagine having players paid tens of thousands of pounds a week who wouldn't live in the commutable area.
Scotty66
Defoe lives in London so they probably based the entire idea around him considering how he performs each week.

Benwell Lad
Didn't some economic think-tank (whatever that is ?) suggest a few years ago that it would be best just to bulldoze Sunderland and pay it's inhabitants to relocate somewhere else with better prospects ? Seem to recall it was, quite understandably, met with uproar. Unlikely the football club would get away with such a negative suggestion.
Klaus
The reason why players don't go to Sunderland is because they are shite and have been fighting relegation for about a decade got very little to do with the location iyam.

loki679
Not Sunderland though, is it? It's just some London team that plays games at the SoL every two weeks. Fuck that, never mind that it's the mackems, I think it's a shithouse thing for any club to do.

Dokko
I hope they go for it as it would be the end for them. What will end up happening is it will catch them one or two but they'll still need to compete financially and they just brought in someone who's character is questionable. Eventually those characters will still choose a proper London club because why put themselves out with all that travelling when you could live there FT? The fans won't ever trust the players, or connect with them and it will leave the club divided between those who want to survive at any cost (Johnson, shit football, last minute escapes, cheating, off field offences) and those who are having their loyalties tested every week with the latest embarrassing episode and are clinging on supporting out of duty & habit. The latter are tailing off every season. Can't imagine any of this being cheap either, you know Sunderland with all that money to burn. They'd be better off throwing even more money at average players than they do now, but I'm guessing this is what the board are sick of and trying to avoid. Tooj
Woman racially assaulted in front of son in sunderland city centre.... Man pulled veil from Muslim woman's face in Sunderland race attack Scotter had shouted "take that ****er off, you stupid ****** Muslim" during the attack. As he walked away he was heard saying "Our Britain, you live by our ******* rules". Tony Hawks, defending, said Scotter has recently been diagnosed with having a serious cancerous tumour under his tongue and faces major surgery next week. Well known medical link - tongue cancer makes tongue say racism (also cause hand-snatch racism) Life in sunderland. Bunch of backward fuckin racist shitbags. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/crime/man-pulled-veil-from-muslim-woman-s-face-in-sunderland-race-attack-1-8373464 It's not like a similar incident happened on the Metro in town a while back or anything... Big Geordie
Stupid idea for the mackems to consider relocating their training base to London. I'd be foaming if NUFC pushed through with doing similar. PL football is slowly disappearing up it's own arse.
