NEEJ
I hope he's done that just for the "crack" and not for a kid's competition, like.
Interpolic
Can I share that on social media, or would it make me an easter nonce? Edit - just seen Ian's post, carry on.
mofo
Man I love Benitez so much, the guy oozes class! So sad that it looks like he'll only be here until the end of the season. It's like when you get a temp at work and she's perfect, I mean really nice looking and funny.. but you know she'll be gone soon and that fat tramp will be back from maternity leave. You try not to get too close but when she's there you have fun, you start to like work again!! Then before you know it she's gone, you keep thinking about her but you are left with the nasty little tramp with the annoying cough who you hate so fucking much!! Dave
http://www.rafabenitez.com/web/in/news/rafa-benitez-visiting-the-academy/3535 http://i.imgur.com/dsDmh9C.jpg Rafa Benitez visited the Newcastle United Academy this afternoon to see at first hand the training facilities, meet the staff, including Academy Manager. Joe Joyce, and to see the scholars working out on a typical afternoon at Little Benton. Rafa and his back room team had a full tour of the Academy, viewing all the internal areas including the class rooms, where the all important education takes place, the fitness and treatment rooms and then the analysis and sports science department where player performance is closely monitored. It was then outside to the pitches where Academy Coaches Neil Winskill and Liam Bramley were taking a training session with the Under 15s who were on day release programme from school. Rafa met all the admin staff and also other coaching staff plus the recruitment and education/welfare officers who play such a key role behind the scenes at the Academy. Joe Joyce commented that all his staff were delighted to meet Rafa and how appreciative they all were that he and his staff had taken the time to come and visit them. Decky
Is there any chance at all he'd commit to the club and stay to get us up and go from there or is that just wishful thinking?

Rafa never looks relaxed, he always looks as if he's trying to work something out.
LV
Is there any chance at all he'd commit to the club and stay to get us up and go from there or is that just wishful thinking? Unlikely. And I think it's more that the club wont want to pay his wages than anything else, so if we go down then he'll go.
triggs
I think the fact that he is going around to the youth squads and facilities gives us a bit of hope that he might stick around. Either that or he's confident we'll stay up
Ketsbaia
Is there any chance at all he'd commit to the club and stay to get us up and go from there or is that just wishful thinking? By May, I'll have convinced myself that he's fallen in love with the club, feels guilty and pledges to bring us straight back. Especially if no other job comes up. But realistically he'll go. Valencia will probably be looking.
lovejoy
Can't think of anything I've wanted more as an nufc fan than for us to survive so he stays.

lovejoy
Is there any chance at all he'd commit to the club and stay to get us up and go from there or is that just wishful thinking? As others have said, I think there's a chance he'd stay. There's no chance they'd pay his wages though.
Odear
Well let's put it like this, regardless of what happens this season, when Benitez leaves, the club will be in better shape. He's probably done more positive things behind the scenes in 2 weeks than McClaren, Pardew etc did over the last decade. I've literally gone from not giving a fuck if we got relegated to absolutely bricking it now.
Stuy_O
If we stop up and stays then it'll be amazing, but it's a case of when not if he and Ashley fall out. And judging by Ashley's pathetic comments recently it'll be quite soon.

Scotty66
Sickening to think that Rafa Benitez would want to stay with us and get us out of the Championship, and the board go "no thanks, your too expensive" "We'll phone Nigel Pearson"
timeEd32
After the youth academies and faculties he's seen and worked in he must think he's gone back in time 20 years with our setup. On the plus side, there are probably some really obvious areas for improvement (aside from spending money).

But remember how certain you were that we wouldn't pay his wages while we were in the premier league?
