Mole_Toonfan
Cannot believe a bloke being payed money to give his opinions on football is suggesting we should play Christian Atsu up front like, f***ing hell I mean I can, every single "pundit" on TV is a moron without fail. Interpolic
The media I listened to and read last week seemed absolutely sure that we're going down. It sounded like we were the new Derby, after only 180 minutes of football. No chance that we might improve as games go on or that mixed bag results are pretty common in the first few games of the campaign. Nope, going down. Fucking thick. Coming back to the league, I've not missed this bollocks at all. If it weren't for us, I wouldn't ever bother watching the Prem. People everywhere seem to be in an increasing rush to air their judgements on things these days, it's weird. First few games weren't good like but that's all it was, a few games. We're clearly going to be a pretty solid unit, the main worry is where our goals are going to come from when we're playing better teams than West Ham. If Benitez stays then I think we'll be areet. Village Idiot
Graeme Souness’ assertion that Mikel Merino was a “joke” Ah, Graeme Souness applying his sound judgment to Newcastle's playing squad. Fuck off
Guest chopey
West Ham can do one if they think Rafa will go to them for £5million
Guest
I like Pete Graves, seems a good bloke. Shame he's getting stick for reporting on the club.
Dr Venkman
I don't like these rumours, also don't like the tone of the Chron piece on the last page: 'if he leaves' etc

NUFCDoog
Swear this group is bi-polar On Friday night we were all saying that yesterday would probably be his last game, he's really pissed off etc, wouldn't be suprised if he quit, West Ham will pay the compo and he'll be backed there and he'll go Fast forward 24 hours later and sane people are on about how he won't get to West Ham, no way they'll pay the compo, he's deffo staying, media stirring again. Make your minds up! If West Ham come in he'll go. Provably he pushed by Ashley aswell.
Guest chopey
If we get an offer off West Ham he will defiantly be allowed to speak to them, if he goes is another matter.

AyeDubbleYoo
I'm pretty confident he'll stay, he would've walked already if things were that bad. He just aired his views and Ashley responding created a media frenzy.

He just aired his views and Ashley responding created a media frenzy. Surely 1st September is the litmus test? i.e. he's seeing if Ashley relents and spends some money. That for me is the time to be worried i.e. when Ashley defers to typo and spend nought.

Signings are possible but painful to get done and cheaper than he wants. But he's still here. That's what I'm holding onto anyway, maybe it's wishful thinking. toon25
I'd imagine the porn barons will be looking at a 'pretty football' manager who's more likely to play 'the West Ham way', whatever the fuck that means. Wouldn't surprise me if they went after Tuchel.
Tiresias
West Ham are way too similar to us in some ways, the owners at least spend money etc but that squad is terribly assembled much like ours. Years of accumulating bargains, loads of 3 goal a season strikers and just no clear thinking. Thing is they have also tried to be patient with Bilic and sort this out through some consistency but he seems to have let them down for their trust hugely. I can possibly see Rafa liking that faith in the manager and thinking since they are willing to spend maybe he could clear out and build a squad with them sadly. The downside is a shit home stadium, albeit one which will taxpayer funded give him money to spend.
mrmojorisin75
The thing that sticks with me about Rafa's quotes this summer, albeit vaguely, are the ones where he mentioned players coming to the club because of him and him repaying that faith. Kind of suggests that it'll take something special to push him to the edge now.
Dave
Article is by John Richardson, the one whose tweets are sometimes posted on here and who is supposedly close to Rafa. He was at the match for the Mirror yesterday. So I'd say it's probably true, given that it's happened before. Fuck them, I hope he keeps saying whatever is the truth. Big Geordie
Ashley's PR campaign beginning to show cracks, IMO.
Raconteur
Surely nothing Rafa has said could be considered grounds for dismissal? (On one level) it would be amusing if Ashley sacked Rafa because he wouldn't shut up, and Rafa took him to court like King Kev did...
Stifler
In all fairness to Rafa, he's not said anything other managers haven't. It's just at this club we know there are other reasons why transfers arn't coming in as we'd like it.

Likewise, I was barely watching any games on Sky or even watching MOTD last season. Tbh I feel like the situation over here has just made me fall out of love with football altogether - what Mike Ashley has done/is doing is definitely eating away into my enthusiasm for the game. And he wants to produce Andy Carroll's with home-grown youngsters with the cloud he's brought over the club? Bloke is seriously a fucking idiot.
