Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

Would be happy with Wilson. If anything happens to Gayle we'd be in serious bother.

Not like we've got another striker on the bench with a similar goals to minutes ratio this season.

Not the same type of player. Pretty obvious Rafa doesn't rate Mitrovic.

If we were looking for players for next season we'd be after someone better than Cleverley, so don't think there's much chance of agreeing a obligation to buy.

People keep saying this but we'll have a hard time finding PL standard players who will be big part of the team next season should we get promoted this season.

No one of any real quality is actually going to join us in January and Rafa will know that.

Nobody of the kind of quality we'll be able to buy next season no, but I think we'd be able to attract better than Cleverly right now if we pushed the boat out.  But why bother when you can just get someone good enough on a short term loan (like Cleverly) and then go for the real quality next season.

Would be happy enough with a short term move for Cleverley tbh.

I agree, would be a very sound move, remeber we are in the championship and he's more than good enough for that division, I believe he's proved that in the past too.

Was it the Liverpool owners or Rafa that was doing the whole Moneyball thing in football? Just wondering if he'd entertain the idea of Lucas Leiva.

100% categorically not Rafa.

is it not the current owners who are baseball-related and they poached the moneyball dude to the redsox or whatever?  the previous americans were just a couple of moneymen cunts weren't they...

There are far worse signings we could make in order to shore up the promotion push than Cleverley....never going to be a top PL player but an improvement on Colback for sure...plenty on other media talking about Siggurdson and he would be a great signing but there is NO way Swansea would want to sell him right now because they are desperate to try to stay in the PL...selling Siggurdson would be an admission that they are going to accept relegation.
