Hammer blow for York as it was previously in their hands with them playing Rochdale on the final day, but not anymore unless they score 3 without reply.

Gateshead out of the relegation zone as it stands. What an impact Rob Elliot has had.

They play Yeovil next too who are in and around it, win that and they've got a massive chance to secure survival.

Wonder if they'd have got to League 2 if Elliot hadn't left for Crawley?

If they survive this and he stays on I'll be having a bet on them to finish top 7 next year.

Great stuff. Definitely looking to go to Carlisle vs Gateshead on Good Friday.

We're going to that one. Hopefully take a big crowd over. Brilliant result for Gateshead that mind. Out of the relegation zone!

I'm trying to convince my dad, brother and nephews to go and make a full day of it. We'll be in the Carlisle end, mind, if we go.

I was thinking there may be a few venturing west if the weather is decent, with no Premier League that day.

I'm holding on until nearer the time when I can check the weather forecast. If it's fine we'll go in the uncovered Gateshead end behind the goal. If it's going to be raining we'll go in the home end. Cheaper if you buy tickets in advance.

Since Brackley beat them at the GIS on Valentine's Day they've overturned a 17 point deficit to now be 2 points ahead of them. Madness.

Worth noting as well that Brackley's manager went to Shrewsbury 3 days after that game. Some collapse.

Can't believe that result for Gateshead. Happy for them but can't deny my disappointment at the result from York's point of view. Hopefully Rochdale drop points too. You expect they will; phenomenal effort from both sides so far.

Think Rochdale might come a cropper at Scunthorpe tomorrow.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, Gateshead's third goal is a thing of beauty. As good a free kick as you'll see and a classic far post towering header from Lewis Storey.

When they play well Gateshead are a very impressive side to watch.

I haven't seen it myself anywhere but Sunlun AFC and Livescore apparently teaming up to let 500 folk into Seaham Red Star vs. Alnwick for nowt this Saturday for non-league day; advert apparently says free entry and a drink on the club.  Canny gesture if it's legit

Anyone going to any games on Saturday for Non League day?

In form Gateshead doing 20% off admission against Yeovil Town.

We're going to Berwick Rangers v Bonnyrigg Rose.

Not this year, would normally do a game or two in or around London but coming home between England games for a change.

Might try and get a few of the Northern League "Easter Groundhop" games in next weekend though, few games and a few pints, what's not to love?

If you're going to Seaham make sure to position yourself right against the home dugout. Seaham's foul mouthed perma-furious manager Mark Collingwood is the best entertainment in the Northern League.

Some interesting results in the National League tonight.

Scunthorpe 2 Rochdale 2 - so the title race is back in @Yorkie hands. If York win all their remaining matches, they will almost certainly win the league, bar some absolute freak Rochdale wins. That result also keeps Scunthorpe at bay from Carlisle's perspective in terms of the race for 3rd (and a play off bye).

Morecambe 2 Hartlepool 3 - Hartlepool 2 points off the playoffs and they play 7th place Southend at home in their remaining games so still a chance for them to make them, but arguably more importantly, keeps Morecambe 6 points off Gateshead towards the bottom.

Might take a rare trip to Blue Star on Saturday as it's just down the road and it's a bit warmer now. Real fair weather non league fan me. Do a few games early then late into the season. Late summer and then spring. Can't hack the cold dark winter games though.
