Didn't want him anyway...[emoji102]

Be interesting to see who we go for now.

Andre Gray? Burnley have bid for Assombalonga, so they might be preparing to let him go.

Good shout, we've had some pretty significant links with him in the past.

Always been a fan of Assombalonga too, reckon he'd do well at Burnley if he can stay injury free.

From the Chronic. Up to £10m for a loan?:

It’s a difficult summer for clubs looking for value and even the Tammy Abraham deal – which has caused so much consternation for Benitez – was not quite as simple as has been suggested. It was a loan deal but the figures being quoted by Chelsea were astronomical – the fee could have risen to eight figures if certain clauses were not met.

A requirement to play him – and financial penalties if he didn’t feature regularly – were a risky business. Newcastle didn’t take the plunge but it wasn’t perhaps as cheap as was first sold.

Considering how much has been made of Rafa's apparent discontent about this deal in particular, you'd think the club would have leaked such details sooner because they make it sound quite reasonable for us to have doubts.

The club has lied and lied and lied again. They've been caught lying, numerous Ashley goons have admitted to lying in leaked conversations, Keegan and others have given specific accounts of them lying, they've admitted to 'deliberately misleading the supporters of Newcastle United' in court.

And yet here we are 10 years later; it's agendas.

Don't know how this still avoids people.
