It's a good point, as much as Josh looked good and was a handful we helped make him look good through putting dog shit full backs to operate against.

Murphy was better playing two positions than Hayden was one.

I've seen Murphy play RWB for the England U21s a few times and I'm sure an orthodox RB too.  He can't be any worse than Manquillo.  Ritchie also needs people with pace around him.

Only difference right now is that Josh has a lot of confidence and Jacob has no confidence.

You can only get confidence if you are playing games.

 

Even with confidence I think they're both championship players though.

Look to games mid last season and Jacob put in better performances than that against better opposition.

I can see the way Rafa looks at this guy. Pure speed. He's used in games verses better opposition as an outlet. Doesn't look like he trusts him in game where we have more possesion.

i don't know about this kid at all, when he's out wide he seems to have enough pace to exploit space a bit but when he's up against a defender 1 on 1 he rarely comes out on top

 

i'd like to see him instead of perez at some point...he's decent at carrying the ball and when he does get his head up properly he's got an eye for a canny pass in and around the box

It's tough but he isn't which is part of the problem. He can't seem to break through the ceiling right now. Like alot of our first half play and players they show signs of being great but the end quality isn't there yet.
