Quite a few wanted him hauled off at half time today.

Yeap when there was no need to change after we played very well 1st half.

really want to see what the confidence of scoring a goal might do to his game

I think he's got goals in his locker as well, just needs to grab that first. He's better than he thinks he is.

Think Murphy was very poor yesterday. Got himself in to good positions on the rightside but useless with the ball. Then in the last 20 minutes or so something happend. He started to get past his guy and controled thd ball better and found some great passes. The one for Gayle (which should have been a penalty) and of course the one for the goal.

Hope this will give his confidence a boost. If he can keep playing like in the last 20 yesterday he will be a real asset. Needs to be more direct and confident. Hopefully that will come with gametime.

I don't know what happened but he looked like a completely different player mentally in that second half. Suddenly full of confidence destroying people on the dribble left and right.

So glad he got that fantastic assist. Will do a lof of good for him getting some end result.

Isn't that just what wingers do? His movement in the first half was good, things didn't come off. Then they did.

Don't take anyone who says that's his first good game seriously either. He'd been one of the only few positives since he's got a run of starts.

Guarantee they'll stop it there on MOTD tomorrow and put that stripey graphic on the six yard box.

  :snod:

Really warming to the kid, feel quite positive when his name is on the team sheet as opposed to earlier when it was a bit "oh no".

With Murphy and Atsu it seems that some people just cant comprehend that because they are attacking, pacey and skillful players - there will be times where it comes off and times where it doesn’t.

They attempt to force things to happen, rather than shite and boring sideways and backwards passes.

If it came off every time, they’d be playing for Man City, Real Madrid or Barcelona etc.

His movement caused Stoke all kinds of problems.
