I don’t think you can consider the assists a fluke or anything but a result of his ability when it’s sustained like this.

Just accept the brilliant creativity of Jacob Murphy and you’ll be much happier in life.

I remember Shola often playing the same role. There was a game, Wigan away in the 2010/11 season I think it was, he plucked the ball out of the sky beautifully and all he had to do was play an easy pass in behind which of course he messed up.

He's gonna be an excellent squad player for us for years to come.

Ideal world we'll have a first choice RW and a talented young developmental prospect alongside Murphy there.

Play the young lad when we feel it's a good scenario for him to get minutes in, while we can use Murphy when Eddie needs someone with a bit more experience.

Murphy can also be a reliable option LW, while also being an emergency RB.

Pleased for him the last few games, his general play has still been patchy but he's been productive.

From the corner I sit in it looked like Trippier would opt to pass inwards rather than pass down the line to Murphy.

Once we did use him it allowed Isak into the game as Murphy always looks to feed him.

No other winger in our squad is as unselfish and I bet Isak prefers to have him on the right

Good game for him to have an off day tbh. Against good opposition you get found out if your touch isn't sure, and that's how it was going for the first half hour, then when they got a man sent off, it took the pressure off and he improved. It was a good cross for the assist.

All of this.

He has replaced Almiron. Now we need a quality starting RW.

The likes of Sanusi and Harrison will hopefully come through as backup beyond that.

That chances created per 90 is disgusting.

I love him. Never a world beater. Hell, no matter how good a shift he'd put in I never wanted him to be a regular starter. The kind of player whose weaknesses shine through from an extended run. But he's sure as hell earned his spot so far this season.

He has had a long extended run now and has great stats to show for it. 19 goals/assists over 2050 minutes the last 2 seasons in the PL.

Keep getting underestimated no matter what this guy.

Never known a player hit the woodwork so much as Murphy like. Strikes the ball well a lot of the time, just particularly unlucky.

Must have the highest ever ratio of games/minutes played against hitting the goal frame :)

Him hitting the crossbar and also passing to Isak when he was offside instead of shooting felt like it summed him up a bit.

Can't help but love him though and he's certainly contributed to our change in fortunes. Keep going Jacob
