Him & Hamann as a midfield two, fucking hell. Aye we’d have gotten to enjoy it for all of 9 months! Hamann might have stayed longer had there not been so much shit going on in the dressing room. He was given a copy of Mein Kampf as a Christmas present by the “lads” - top banter.. Think that was the same year that either Pistone or Domi was given a sheeps heart, to suggest the player had no heart for the rough and tumble of the premier league.. There was more too, can’t remember right now.

Dr Jinx
There’s a mirror article which couldn’t be arsed to link but was Pistone who got the sheeps heart, Ketsbaia got a hairbrush and Duncan Ferguson got a prison shirt.

gjohnson
If we want to talk about under-rated then Robert Lee has got to be up there. One of the best in our best teams in living memory, but never gets mentioned at all.

Can't argue with that...would be looking at 50-60m for that kind of service now.
The Butcher
For overrated. Got a brilliant right foot, but he's not a good defender.

Great, great player. Edited March 24, 2022 by macphisto
kingxlnc
Roy Keane often says that the likes of Rob Lee and David Batty were 'proper' midfielders who were amongst the toughest competitors he ever faced in the PL. He also said that about Tim Sherwood.

Got a brilliant right foot, but he's not a good defender. stats like this are nonsense though. he's played pretty much every game this season, in a team that has a ton of possession, where a lot of the play goes down his side. not to mention he's on set pieces. so naturally he's going to have a lot of touches that end up as "lost possession". AyeDubbleYoo
I mean, it's losing possession if you make a cross and a defender clears it, I guess? It's not a very meaningful stat unless it's combined with information on how possession was lost.

The Butcher
That particular stat means very little, if anything at all. It's his lack of defensive skills that makes him overrated.

The Prophet
TAA is class, him and Cancelo are both brilliant full backs. TAA might be defensively suspect, but with the amount of the ball Liverpool have, he more than offsets it with his ability going forward. Disco
Liverpool know this as well, hence why they have mobile centre backs and Fabinho/Henderson have been ready to cover for him as needed.
