Go abroad for a few years then come back and break the record too. If it means that much to him, you’d think he’d want to get it done as soon as he can and whilst he’s still relatively young and fit. He might not get the chance to come back to the PL if he suffers a bad injury etc out there- the chance diminishes the longer he’s away from the league. edit- obviously it’s all ifs, buts and maybes though! McCormick
Just a Rob Holding replacement, no? The drop off when they lost Saliba to injury was catastrophic for them. If he’s good, he plays; if not, then he’s great cover.

All the reliable journos are saying our targets are Thuram or Kone or someone in that price range and if the money stretches, maybe a central defender who can play right full-back. LFEE
6 minutes ago, The Prophet said: All of a sudden Tonali seems reasonably priced. Exactly. £50m cheaper in fee and I’d imagine around £40m cheaper in wages over a 6 year period (based on being paid £260kpw as a guesstimate) and that’s without having a knock on effect of changing our wage structure which could’ve led to several players getting premature pay rises which would be massively expensive and an irreversible trend. Those thinking we were sniffing around for him need their head shaking ? This is why the club are looking for players who they deem can be as good if not better when working under EH but aren’t as established. Forget the likes of Rice & Maddison. Trust the process. Although I’m not a massive fan of Rice as some on here especially at the figures quoted I think Havertz might surprise a few this year. Either way I think it’s going to be a fascinating battle between Man City Arsenal Man Utd Liverpool Brighton Villa Spurs and us in 23/24.

Yeah, Havertz could potentially be special and Arteta clearly thinks he can get it out of him. For the other point, think Man City are too good for anyone else but everything after them is super interesting. You forgot Chelsea too, so crowded at the top end of the table. I did forget Chelsea (see above) ?? Actually added Man City out of courtesy but was just going to leave them out as they look good to go again despite reaching their Everest which is my only slight doubt. Probably try for the quad now ? If they are playing Havertz in GX role it could be very interesting season for him.

I was watching some of his clips at Leverkusen back and I think he might be used in the role Xhaka played this past season, if so, I think he'll score a lot of goals arriving in the box from attacking midfield. He was brilliant at it for Leverkusen.
