The Chilwell and Enciso deals really stink.

Chilwell was a player they were trying to get rid of, had loaned out last season and clearly had told could leave this summer. No move materialises, probably because Chilwell/any potential buying club wanted his wages supplemented by Chelsea. Instead of having to pay a player to not play for them, or eat the salary of a player in your “bomb squad”, they have Strasbourg buy him, get him off the books and give themselves more PSR space.

Enciso was a player Chelsea clearly wanted but were aware they had a log jam of attacking players, so instead of buying him and loaning him to Strasbourg, creating a negative on their PSR, they have Strasbourg buy him knowing full well they’ll have him from them if he develops.

Yet again it’s clubs trying to find a way around PSR, being incentivised to do these sort of deals and create PSR wiggle room for themselves.
