Find it hard to get excited about English teams doing well in Europe

Normally I’m the same but it’s the way these two have done it. Wish they could both lose the final like.

All joking aside, I really struggle to deal with the success of English clubs in Europe. The whole thing is an unrelenting reminder of the fact that we are run into the ground by the worst human being in the world, who actively exploits the collective success of these other clubs (through the TV revenue) by creaming off the top and putting nothing back in.

Whether it's by doing it the right way like Spurs have done, or through financial doping via Man City, both of these examples of success are the result of the explosion of the Premier League and the opportunity that presents either to savvy operators like Levy or by actual nation states seeking international legitimacy. The way the Premier League is now is basically an open goal for any decent sized and supported club to run at and stick it in the net. Even fucking Leicester won the league through an ownership that has the best interests of the club at heart.

It's jealousy on one part, but also just real frustration and depression at the way we are operated in this world of bountiful opportunity. The fact that Sissoko and Wijnaldum will be playing off against each other in the final is a footnote which kinda punctuates this entire point.

Man Utd must be slitting their wrist.

Man City dominating. Liverpool amazing. Giving OGS the job and not throwing everything at getting Pochettino.

Beautiful.

Brilliant that all the top six can be in the CL next year except for Man U. Poor bairns.

Interesting - I think Eng is only allowed 5 so say Spurs and Arsenal win - Chelsea miss out

There are five places, if Arsenal win the EL only Man U miss out. Chelsea can't finish outside the top four.

Every time I see him, Moura seems trash.

This aged well

He was awful in the first half, don't know what happened in the second

He wasn't like. Were other players (Alli..) who were far worse.

3 CL qualifications to Spurs' nil in the 12 years pre-Ashley, 12 years on they're in the final and after the one season we knocked on the door we followed it up with Vurnon Anita as our sole signing.

I'd feel much easier about it if it were a Man City-Chelsea final, at least then you know that NUFC aren't playing on a level playing field. Fucking Spurs man. Our manager once resigned partly because he felt so sorry for theirs after we put 7 past them ffs.

Top post. Not too mention fans of drivel clubs, like our own, actively willing, cheering and wanting more money / power into the big clubs who grow ever stronger, closing the shop and distorting the league for their own gain.

Spurs and Liverpool are to be respected for their genuinely superb sporting achievements but any further, nah no way.

If its an all English final for the Europa, then this would probably be a dissapointing season for Man Utd in all honesty. City will probably win the treble, the other 4 big clubs have reached European finals and you're stuck with a legend who got relegated with Cardiff as manager and he wants to build a team around Scott McTominay.
