Danh1
Such a shame for them, after reading on their board how great he was for us and how he would be for them too. Oh well.
TheBrownBottle
Horrible, horrible, horrible cunt The man is a fucking leech. Why can’t he just take his ill-gotten gains and fuck off? Buy a lifetime’s supply of Frey Bentos and sit in front of the telly. It’s a sport for the man. Obviously the desperate sad cases like Keys are impressed by money and sure in their own bigotry that we’re wrong. But I doubt they reflect the majority of Coventry City supporters, who’ve had nowt but shite news re their club for two decades now. The poor soda deserve a break; the fates gave them Mike Ashley

Turns out a c**t can't change it's spots. They really didn't like. Most could see he's a parasite.
alexf
This will definitely be a play and his attempt to strong arm them. He lives for getting a few quid knocked off a deal.
Wullie
Ashley's poison is only limited by the power he has. If he were the leader of a country, he'd be a full on dictator. Just an atrocious human being with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Yorkie
Such an awful human being. Coventry forum unanimous that he's doing this so he can get their club on the cheap. (Not that I really understand; is their sale uncertain atm? I thought someone else had snapped them up...) From that forum: "Make no mistake - if this is just a ploy by Ashley to get the club on the cheap, it just proves that he only cares about his own personal enrichment, and doesn’t give a shit about the club or its fans." I don't want to laugh at them because they're victims but it's mad seeing people have these epiphanies over Mike Ashley ffs.

gbandit
Aye, a man who’s known for treating everyone with contempt, using any means necessary for his own gain and seemingly taking a psychopathic joy out of destroying others has done it again. The naivety you have to have to believe he could be anything other than the most destructive force your club has ever experienced is mind boggling
AyeDubbleYoo
I also don’t understand why he wants to own Coventry. Just buy some Sports Direct advertising or sponsor a shirt FFS.

Hassle aside, is there any doubting that his experiences in football club ownership have been anything other than extremely profitable for him? I'm not surprised he's spent half his time post-NUFC preying on vulnerable clubs.

Based on his Rangers experience I wonder if he'll try and strongarm them into giving him some sort of cut of profits without having to properly invest in/make decisions surrounding the club regularly. Stifler
Either he wants to strong arm them into a shit deal to sell the club to him, or he wants knock the place down and build a massive SD retail park. Either way pissing off your potential customers on step 1 isn’t the right way to go, then again his SD shops survived in Newcastle for 14 years of his NUFC ownership. It's obviously not the way to go, but based on his experience with NUFC, he probably assumes the fans will show up and put money in his pocket regardless of how bad he treats them and their club, like so many of our fans did. deejeck
Finally, people may start to realise what a monumental thundercunt this bloke is - all that happened at NUFC, the stunt he pulled with Rangers' branding, but this latest one is a belter, even by his loathsome standards. If it is a plan to get CCFC on the cheap, then he clearly doesn't give a flying fuck about what damage is caused in the meantime. You have to wonder whether he'd even pass the fit and proper owners test, although given the EFL's track record on that he'd probably sail through. Yorkie
Club statement: Coventry City can confirm media reports that it received an eviction notice from Frasers Group, new owners of the Coventry Building Society Arena, on Friday afternoon. Following the Frasers Group acquisition of the stadium from administrators, Coventry City have been told that we must agree a new licence to play at the Arena. We were surprised to learn of this intention by Frasers Group, given that discussions with Coventry City prior to the completion of their purchase of the Arena led us to understand the existing terms would continue unchanged with Frasers Group as the new owners of the Arena. Coventry City Football Club has an existing long-term licence to play at the Arena, which was agreed in March 2021 to run until 2031. Frasers Group have now presented to Coventry City a new agreement with new commercial terms, which have been presented to us without any dialogue or negotiations, and are less favourable to the Football Club. In addition, this licence would only run until May 2023. Frasers Group have said they would negotiate for beyond May 2023, but this leaves us without the security and certainty that our current deal provides to us and our fans. To confirm, Coventry City are happy to continue under terms of the current licence which we already have in place to play at the Arena. Following Frasers Group’s purchase of the Arena, one of the great assets of the City of Coventry, they stated they were "looking forward to working with Coventry City Football Club". Coventry City hope that they will act on those words for the good of the Arena, the Football Club, our fans and the City and community that they are now part of. Coventry City had envisaged being able to deal with this situation internally, but following media reports this morning, we will continue to keep supporters updated regarding the situation going forward and hope that we will continue to be able to welcome our fans to our home at the Coventry Building Society Arena
