With Ashley I’d imagine it won’t just be about money. Advertising deals, club shop/merchandising etc. No credible new owner wanting to make a success of the club would touch it

He was/is but there was intense scrutiny pressure towards him at the time. The boos at the final whistle after a terrible performance were deafening. Fans really letting him have it. He still spoke very fondly of us. Considering it an honour to have played and managed us.

I thought Roeder was broadly respected (just not good enough)?

I would be surprised if there wasnt good will from most considering his playing days and the good things he did do ar the club. People do more easily remember what was the most recent and also go to the negatives.

Plenty turned on him because he probably should have resigned earlier and same type of post match drivel that pisses fans off when teams are on shit runs. He wasnt going to resign from what was a dream job and he obviously believed in himself past the point of reality. Dont blame him for then end of his spell also remembering he also negotiated us through some shit times too. Should never have been in the position he was put in though.

There was an episode of premier league world last night dedicated to Glenn Roeder. If we could match the vitriol shown to him in Ashley’s direction the fat prick might not be sitting so comfortable.

All those fans are long gone unfortunately. Replaced with by those with slower minds. They'll get the idea eventually.

One gamble to far this time, we will go down. Take Kenyon up on his IOU & fuck off.

He’s took us down twice already, he doesn’t give a fuck man.

What irritates me is the sense from bits of the media etc that seem slightly sympathetic about the lack of ambition but think he's running it smartly from cost control point of view. The loss of sell on value from our squad who looked good last season to now would more than have paid for Rafas demands. He's bleeding money all for the sake of having a yes man in steve bruce rather than Rafa. Another season under Rafa and could have had some ridiculous fees for Lascelles etc and more than replaced them if he was actually shrewd. Instead we will be stuck with a wage bill in teh championship and a bunch of players ruined by dreadful coaching.

Another relegation won't see him sell up. It will take a sustained spell in the Championship - once all of the TV cash has gone, and there are no assets left so sell.

And he will still expect £350m
