Happinesstan
Think he'll be gone by the end of next season and it won't be his decision. Would love to be wrong but he needs to work a hell of a lot on his team game.

clintdempsey
FFS, ASM is a hugely talented, absurdly egoistic and enigmatic player. Of course there’s a place for him at NUFC for years to come. The kind of player that makes me smile, laugh, scream and throw stuff at the telly in equal proportions. Kind of like Laurent Robert did back in the day. But with more tricks. xLiaaamx
I hate this thread lately and I hate our fan base in general on this. Might aswell play Hendrick and Ritchie out wide to keep some happy.

Holloway
Good read that, liked the comments about Amanda and the veiled digs at the former owner. Question is whether he can develop further with the inevitability of higher quality team mates that are brought in. Should be exciting finding out ! elbee909
Totally great to have ambition but without self-realisation about where one needs to improve, it's hollow.
Nine
Since it’s been brought up already just out of interest how many of you would choose a prime Robert over a prime ASM?

Conjo
Yeah, prime Robert. Easily.
Chris_R
It's a hard comparison because Robert had people to aim at. ASM has to do stuff himself. Probably Robert though, but I'd be interested to see how ASM played in that team Robert played in.
timeEd32
ASM vs HBA probably a better debate.

Wolfcastle
No contest if your not blinded by bling. Robert guaranteed goals. ASM guarantees dribbles.
samptime29
I loved Robert so much. Saw all the classic Robert goals live. That Spurs game man.
Hanshithispantz
Aye Robert easily at the minute. ASM is great to watch but his stats aren't the greatest given the downsides of his game. Hopefully with the likes of Trippier and Bruno he'll be able to go up a gear though. @HaydnNUFCmade a great point about him pinning fullbacks back though which is a pretty hard thing to quantify in numbers. elbee909
Interestingly ASM's stats are quite similar to Robert's. I guess we've just chosen to forget the similarly frustrating stuff. Edited January 29, 2022 by elbee909
Sima
The ‘SHOOOOOT’ cunts at the match would have had a field day with Robert. For every Spurs 2nd goal there were about 10 others that ended up in the Gallowgate or Leazes. Still better than ASM, mind.
loki679
It is possible to like him as a player and appreciate what he brings to the team while at the same time being critical of his decision making and habit of holding onto the ball too long and losing possession. DMLeazesender
!00% Robert over ASM. But I like ASM for all his failings and I think he will improve as better players around him come in. I like his attitude and ambition. He wears his heart on his sleeve. His kind words for Steve Bruce was his opinion of his time with Bruce. We may all hate Bruce but he was maybe just being respectful of the man. He's gone on today saying nice things about Amanda (first name terms!!)...... I think he just wants to feel loved... and I think HBA was a bit like that....they need and react to the crowd.
