If you're Fraser and got the chance of a season in Serie A while still earning his £60k a week he surely goes there. At the very worst, he ends up back at Aberdeen or someone like Hearts or Hibs in a couple of years, but if he's on a free in a couple of years, you could see Rangers or Celtic back in for him.

I reckon once he fills his wheelbarrow with cash he heads back to Aberdeen.

Assuming we wrote off his full contract as onerous last year, that’ll be a benefit to the bottom line next year in P&L terms

I don’t think Fraser was in the bum squad. It was Clark, Gayle and Hendrick at that point.

He might just prefer sitting in front of his telly in Newcastle earning the £60k though. Isn't that the reason he's not moved in the past 12 months?

According to The Athletic article in March the whole bust up came cos he *did* want to leave in Jan. And the transfer window before that he looked like he could well be a regular so there wasn't much talk of him leaving.

Why are we so bad at getting rid of players, literally paying people to take them off us.

They were given wages higher than their quality and long contracts and for Fraser and Hayden both are injury prone.

Who wants to buy moody footballers that are already on decent wages but aren't anything special?

Because the players are Ashley era and generally not great quality for the wages they want. Not the current owners fault that no one wants them.

Re Fraser, it’s important to remember we got him on a free when we were in the dumps and he was highly thought of hence his high wages relative to our other players.

Given this he’s hard to shift as teams that can pay his wage don’t deem him to be worthy of them.

If he genuinely wants to leave there should be enough clubs who would take him on subsidised wages. Hopefully he'll be gone by the time the transfer window closes then.
