Lush Vlad
Bellamy and Torres were never the same after hamstring injuries, were they?
Flip
His fifth hamstring injury for us.
elbee909
Great player but should probably go pay-as-you-play now and wind him down.
Nine
Sad thing is at the age he is now and the accumulation of injuries it’s not going to get any better
Mahoneys Tache
Owen was played too much as a young lad before he’d fully developed and was left with shonky hamstrings. Loads of these players who reply on explosive pace end up like it if they aren’t managed properly when they are in their late teens. The really great strikers adapt to naturally slowing down as they get older.
Yorkie
Gutting for the lad, really. His body is clearly not up to this level of intensity. Makes it all the more remarkable how instantly sharp he is when he does feature. It's a huge relief we've signed another forward, like, because Wilson couldn't be less reliable. And for all he's a very talented striker, he's still a typical signing of that era: there was no real planning or foresight, it was just appealing financially. Cross our fingers for us and for him that this is the only substantial lay-off this season but I think we can all accept that it won't be. Do feel for the guy, like; he never leaves anything out there on the pitch and he clearly busts a gut trying to represent the club, and he's performed so well on the whole. Just an almighty pisser that he's obviously just got very fundamental issues with his natural fitness.
Mahoneys Tache
What was the name of the spurs centre half who’s knees were so fucked he barely trained his last couple seasons but played like a Titan at the weekends?

His injury record on TransferMarkt isn’t great. 163 days out with hamstring injuries at us and Bournemouth. 20 games missed. Nothing compared to 2 cruciate ruptures (55 games missed) but add this to thigh and calf injuries and you’ve got someone who is massively susceptible to muscular injuries. Since 2018 he’s missed 307 days and 39 games worth of football with them.
Gallowgate Toon
Getting ~30 league games out of him this season would be a big success.

JUICE690
Gutted for the lad. Comes across as such a nice guy that loves to play his game. Fingers crossed he returns sooner rather than later. Huge loss for us.

NG32
Real shame mind, he's a quality player and this will probably impact his chances of going to the WC.
The College Dropout
I do think the medical team / club know more about Wilson's body. Whether he has a mental block or they expect hamstring issues to continue. If we have enough depth so that he only plays 30-60 minutes per game but is available more often, that would be great. They said the same thing about Hargreaves, Bale and Sturridge. They thought they had injuries when the medical team couldn't find anything. At a certain point, a player just feels it. Tbf to Wilson he's had 2 ACL's, another serious knee injury, 2 big hamstring injuries and a big calf injury. He's done well to still be this good after all of that. Thought he'd missed a load of games in the last 3 years, but he's contributed [maybe as sub, but still not injured per se] in just about every league game before last year. Complete contrast to Owen, really.
Guest reefatoon
As good and likeable as he is, he just can't be relied upon to be your main striker. He will have to realise that himself too as his massive amount of injuries just don't let him play anywhere near enough.

Guest
3-4 weeks normally turn out to 7-8 weeks for him. Shame.
Guest dazzanufc1892
Said to friends all summer that this bloke can't be relied on sadly and a striker should have been a priority. Luckily Isak can fill in this role for us. Its a bit like having Bellamy back but this time Wilson is the main man, not a secondary striker. He will be good to have as a bench player and a very reliable understudy, however, I think we now need to consider that he is a squad player with greatt ability, rather than a first team regular who leads the club
