West Ham United 0-2 Newcastle United - 12/09/20

No was fine, if we must have bruce ball that wasn't terrible. there is a ceiling to what can be achieved but would be silly to moan. Wilson looks the kind of poacher we've lacked for a while (tho obvs very soon to judge) and just were total pain to play against with carrol trying to give them all head injuries and our midfield harrassing a lot.

Wasn’t hoof ball either, there are times where it’s needed but it wasn’t the first option. What a joy to have someone like Wilson up front. Will be interesting how we line up at home, we could actually look exciting if Bruce goes for it.

Good performance.

Quality second half from Hendricks.

Fuck off judging him on 30 minutes by the way, that is just utter stupidity.

You're spot on??

That pissed me off when I entered the thread earlier to see "Hendricks" can't even spell his name, is shit.

Hendrick worked hard, and looked good, he's not really a winger imo, but did well under pressure on his debut.

I think some will be pissed he kept Almiron out of the side tbf.

Yay. We won. We played 442 and pumped it long to a big number 9 for 80 minutes, but, yay. Cant wait for more.

Come on, we didn't just do that. We did go direct at times but that's just nonsense.

 There was an awful lot more than I'd like to be fucking seeing. Because if we rely so much on that as a tactic, we're relying on playing with Andy Carroll. We dont have another player that can fill that roll. That's what I'm most concerned about. Not really an inspiring thought going forward.

Maybe it's the first game and that's what we had ready. Maybe we're working on more and there's different things to come. But if he's going with this tactic all season, it's a little worrying.

We had some good performances from players and it was good to see effort and some quality from individuals. But the setup is at best average. There's so much more that could be done with those players.

Aye it's Bruce, players bought by our arsehole owner and not new owners, we all wish that was different and hope it does soon.

But if we play well, we can tell the truth....to find fault in today's performance overall is ridiculous. We played well, we won well, the new players we all excellent, as was Shelvey and Carroll. The two centre backs were solid, Manq continues to improve.

For once after the shittiest time, I'm going to enjoy it for once.

It certainly boggles the mind to see so many people who've spent the last couple of months screaming that they're done with NUFC forever, get back on board after a fairly turgid away win against relegation fodder.

It wasn't aimless hoof ball at all, and it wasn't a turgid performance.

I get it though. You're doubling down because you're annoyed the team did well.

No need though. There'll be worse days then you can have your fill then.

Not easy on the eye, but we deserved the win.

Of the three newcomers, Wilson looked good. Lewis looked a bit raw but showed promise. Hendrick showed a bit more confidence in the second half, but basically looked very awkward on the ball.

A fit looking Andy Carroll is a big bonus. He did really well.

There are some right moody twats on here like, trying to stop others enjoyment ffs. Why even watch it if you're not a least somewhat entertained?

Edgelords man. Every thread, every game

"Why am I watching this? / Wish I felt something" on and on and on and on.

Obviously would rather we had somebody that is far more proven than Stevie Bacon or an owner other than Ashley, but credit where credit is due when its due.

I get your point, if we try this without our injury prone big forward it won't work.

Not trying to give Bruce any kind of tactical acumen, but maybe we set up this way as we were away, and it was West Ham, we might set different against others...time will tell i guess.
