You'd hope he'd have just let it if he knew it was going to be a tight one Yeah, during that interminable var check I was thinking that maybe they were looking at that given how obviously onside the first touch was, but both were miles on. Still don't really know what his best position is, he clearly functions best in a counter-attacking team. I don't see him as a true CM really, he lacks the attributes generally needed, but he contributed today. He's a shadow striker AM hybrid for me. It looks like today suited him. Kanj
Good, now show it weekly. Show it when we need another player to step up. Show it when Bruno can’t, Or Maxi can’t. It’s time to step up in his career. The excuses need to stop. He’s talented as hell. Edited October 1, 2022 by Kanji

Fair Aye, there may only be a few games a season that truly "suit" his style. He may integrate better as time goes on and EH's coaching sinks in, maybe he'll just be a late bloomer, it's hard to say. He's still young, definitely needs support and time if he's ever going to truly get it.
Disco
Was class today. Involved in everything good we did going forward and provided so many overloads, particularly down the left. Some lovely tricks and flicks when it was game over too.

Watched his highlights from the Fulham match 2 year ago and he was unplayable. Anything like that or today going forward and he’ll be hard to take out the team. Aiston
There is clearly a PL quality player in him, needs to show it more often.
HaydnNUFC
Stood out for me today, played really well. Best he's been for a while. Some lovely touches and link up play and unlucky not to score.

Being anonymous for most of the game didn’t impress me today. Just because Bruno and Longstaff did their jobs, doesn't negate Willock's contribution. I'm not here to write a detailed breakdown of his contribution for you. Either you weren't watching the game or you had made your mind up he played badly before the game was played. Bimpy474
I know we all have different takes on players, on how they play and how the performances go, but to think Willock didn't have good game is mad. Same with Murphy, i think he's not good enough, but he also played well today and you have to admit it to be fair and balanced. Or you're just trying to find holes in good performance because you just don't like the player. Edited October 1, 2022 by Bimpy474

Conjo
PL quality if we can play against a demotivated 10 man team every week. Anderson > Willock every time for me.
Happinesstan
Didn't see all the game but what I did see he impressed me a lot more today. Thought his showboating was unnecessary mind, and put us under pressure.
Heron
I just cannot put my finger on him, but he works. Such a silent, unsug hero, a lot of the time. Edited October 1, 2022 by Heron
r0cafella
He was good, to suggest otherwise is likely someone who is extremely bias. As some others have said, his willingness to attack space and create overloads is invaluable and really speaks of his stamina and willingness to contribute. Ikon
Very good yesterday. He is talented and can play very well when he is in a game like yesterday. Very open game despite them being a man down and for some reason not sitting back. His strengths shows most often when there’s tons of transitional play and some space. I think after next summer window he will be a good squad player to bring on when we are defending a lead late on and look to counter more. He won’t be good enough to start week in and week out for where we are going. A more possession based football. Even more so further ahead. kenlau88210
Happy for his performance yesterday. Yes game yesterday suited him and he was involved in nearly all of our good plays yesterday. He is still so young hopefully he keeps developing and imposes himself more on a regular basis.

The Prophet
With no Joelinton he did really well at overlapping Fraser and creating the overload down the left.
The College Dropout
I think the rest will have done him well. He had played practically every minute before the break. He has great instincts in the box and has the ability and willingness to get into good positions. Atm I don't have much hope he'll score mind. Kid Icarus
I think it'll come. He was a Wilson tap in and a very good save away from scoring on Saturday, and still bagged a couple of assists. If this is his supposedly poor start and we're due for his form to pick up in the second half of the season then I'm looking forward to it.
