He hasn't been treated any worse than anywhere else (Villa fans started the Cabbage head thing didn't they?) or how he treated Sheffield Wednesday coming here. The vitriol is always OTT by some corners of every fanbase but such is the passion and hazy magnifying glass we all see our clubs through. I can't believe we are any worse than other sets of fans, yet he has been worse than nearly everyone before him.

It is simple, just like the players, all the fans want is honesty, respect and putting the work/time in. 3 things we simply didn't see enough of from Bruce, not to say there isn't lots we would never see behind the scenes but at times he flaunted the opposite of all ideals in our faces.

I don't wish Bruce ill. The club is in his family (even if his genuine love is still in question) and I am sure he wanted to do a good job at some point but the hunger and desire to pull out all the stops to make that happen seemed to disappear quickly. You have to have belief in yourself and your abilities at that level to do well and he did so I don't think even knowing what he would walk into, he would turn it down. He never should have been considered, he wasn't a premier league manager at that point. I just wish he had the dignity to have seen the horror show and got out quicker.

They all can't be mackems on the wind up of course, but most will be jealous plastic fans who haven't got a clue about Steve Bruce's time here and will totally ignore the facts.

My Leeds fan mate (season ticket holder) thinks that Bruce should have been kept on, as the best man to keep us in the division. When I asked him if he'd take Bruce if/when Bielsa leaves, I get the response "fuck no, don't want him anywhere near Leeds, but he's right for Newcastle, he's a Geordie".

Clueless.

Bruce did the fat man’s bidding and took exception to constructive criticism levied.

His biggest sin was treating the support with pure contempt and garnering sympathy from the so called football experts.

We are on the nose with outsiders, but we’re used to that……….

Funny bit in The Athletic, an anonymous player from a champions league team, saying we were the most difficulty to play against. There was so little structure they didn’t know what to expect or how toplay against us. Completely supports the theory of “luck”.

Meaning, "I want you to keep Bruce as he will take you down and I'm shitting myself at the fortune your club now has".

He genuinely doesn't it see it that way. He's convinced we're still getting relegated unless we bring a relegation specialist in

Mourinho would kinda be perfect right now with his bunker mentality style. Come out swinging talking about SBR etc. and it'd be a full on Aragorn leading the troops towards the black gate :indi:

Aye, that's how I feel. I hope Fonseca or whoever we appoint basically sticks teo fingers up and says, watch us.

Bruce came in on a wave of "I'm a Geordie" and then fed into stereotypes held elsewhere of us fans being deluded, just to save his own neck. Ashley himself said the same thing, that "I'm not rich enough to compete with Man City" interview, as if any of us expected that, but he was an outsider. I do not want to get deeply into the psyche of Northern working-class areas, but its a given that you do not slag your own. Bruce also claimed his hands were tied in spite of getting way more money in transfers than Rafa ever did. Rafa had to play a season with Joselu, a Stoke reject, and then wheeler-deal to get Rondon in on loan. Bruce shipped out our best defender and then played Matt Ritchie and Jacob Murphy as full backs with actual full backs on the bench.

We have had several very poor managers over the past twenty odd years, but Bruce is also up there amongst the most unlikable. Right next to Kinnear and Souness for me. I'm old enough to remember Souness as a domineering midfielder, a fantastic been-there, done-that footballer, and Kinnear knocked it out of the park with the "c#nt" press conference, a real-life voyage into the surreal, so I probably dislike Bruce more than both of them. Pardew had some rogue charm about him, shagging players' wives and "the King eats your dinner" malarky, and Carver was clearly a drowning man out of his depth, but I really stuggle to find anything redeeming about Bruce. He's fake twat who winds me up. Today is the twenty-fifth anniversary of Howay Five Oh, our greatest result in modern times, and as a pundit at that game, supposed Newcastle fan Steve Bruce could not have looked any unhappier. I seem to remember his half time analysis focusing on Man U not getting a penalty.

Was out walking the dogs and listening to a nufc podcast (back on them since the takeover) and was thinking about the press coverage.   Was imagining what it would be like if Rafa and bawbag bruce swapped places.  I mean, what if was 'local boy' bruce that had left due to lack of trust etc and it was Rafa that had replaced him and said and acted word for word they way bruce has he wouldn't have lasted 1 season before the press would have been slaughtering him and wanting him gone.

The hypocrisy/agendas these kunts have is unreal!
