ilikenewcastle
I think we're going down, voted 7. January business (or lack thereof) will either push that up or down. Sick feeling in my stomach again about this club. Our season will be decided in the January transfer window. If we carry on doing nothing to change the situation, its only luck (ie other teams losing a lot of games) that will save us.
Stifler
In all seriousness as much as it looks bad, I think we will survive if we get the same as we have done in the first half of the season plus 3 points.

That's gonna be hard though, 2 of our 4 wins in the first half were basically flukes.

Think it could be a fairly high total this season. All teams bar Villa and Sunderland are picking up points fairly regularly WBA had the same amount of points as us this stage last season, they were up a couple of places on the league but the teams at the bottom had about the same as Sunderland do now. WBA were well clear of relegation in the end, both Palace and Liecester pulled away and had less than 17 points. There are teams who do have about the same or more pints total who go down, but there are always teams who have less who stay up. With our points total so long as you beat your first half of the season tally by 3 points or so you could stay up, doing so would give us 40 points, only once have a team went down with more than 40 points. Unbelievable
Erm, your maths are off. We'd be on 37 and quite possibly down.
AyeDubbleYoo
I think at the moment it's still about 50/50, we could scrape enough points to survive but it won't be pretty.
Spider Jerusalem
Has someone forgotten to bolt the horse on to the cart? Nah, got the horse, put it at the front but the guy chosen to be in the driving seat thought the best motivation was to starve the poor beast before shooting it through the head and he still can't work out why it's going nowhere. Wallsendmag
9 for me. Even if we buy in January I don't trust the recruitment staff to bring in the right players needed or McClaren to get anything out of them.
Guest
Probably a 5 for me. It's us or Norwich.

Stifler
We need 8 wins from 19 games to be sure. 6 wins and 5 draws, fuck, that leaves only 8 games we can lose.
Skeletor
We need 8 wins from 19 games to be sure. Don't think we won 8 games in the whole of 2015. Probably even if you throw in pre-season games too.
Parky
Unless there are upgrades in Jan I don't think we'll get anything near 7/8 wins.
Guest chopey
Next seasons Championship could look quite tasty with potentially - Newcastle, Sunderland, Villa, Forest, Middlesbrough, Leeds, Wolves, Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd, Coventry, Hull, Derby, Birmingham, Cardiff, Reading, Fulham, QPR, Blackburn. Premier league

Premier league 2 You made a big mistake pointing THAT out...both Ashley and large sections of NUFC support will take the view that we should be satisfied at being among such formerly exalted company - maybe that is going to be the home for clubs whose glory days are well and truly behind them and ironically, most of the clubs shown were a success when England was an industrial powerhouse..most of the successful clubs today are in parts of the country where Finance and retail is the most successful industry(London/SE/Manchester). This reflects the UK's fall as an industrial power and its place mainly as a Finance hub....those areas are where the majority of the disposable income is and Football chiefs know that too. Many parts of the UK are now unemployment hot spots and will remain so for the foreseeable future leading to an exit of talented people which makes the problem worse.
