I feel sorry for all of the teams at the bottom who have shown some kind of quality at some stage this season and are still more likely to get relegated than us who have not played well in one game

Yep we played well for 60 mins vs West Ham against an old Zabaleta and a chaotic Roberto and we've been rubbish in every game apart from that

Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City are Brighton's next four home opponents, with trips to Wolves and Leicester also on the horizon.

They've also got ourselves, Norwich, Southampton and Burnley. 7-10 points a possibility. It's going to be tight, and no mistake.

Going to be tight. Watford and Norwich winning puts the pressure on those above. We can save ourselves with a couple or home wins. Hard to see the necessary goals happening. Not least when our top scorers and threats are always on the bench.

It happens every season. And we're just smug enough to think it doesn't involve us. Yet. Once we wake up it's a matter of whether Bruce can rally the troops.

The only risk to our relegation is good fortune.

Just gave us a generous 37pts on a relegation predictor but, assuming that Brighton, West Ham, Bournemouth and Watford all beat us, that won't be enough to stay up.

It certainly won't be West Ham or Watford going down, they've got generally great fixtures and the quality players.

If we don't get two wins out of Villa/Bournemouth/West Ham/Watford/Brighton/Southampton/Tottenham I'll be absolutely astonished. That ought to be enough considering we'll get another couple of draws like yesterday. 40 points, job done, world keeps on turning.

I still think relegation is unlikely although a 5 point gap is nothing with 10 matches left to play. I can easily see 6 or 7 points from the remaining fixtures which should be enough for Newcastle to stay up.

That said Newcastle will likely end the season in awful form and there is a history where teams who end the season out of form carry that form into the next season. Watford are the latest example, but their owners have been quick to react. When it happens to Bruce next season, Ashley will cling on to him as long as possible.

It would be funny if Newcastle got relegated on goal difference after all the stick Benitez got for trying to keep it low.
