This result changes absolutely nothing like. We'll get nothing from Old Trafford either.

It’s not the result. It’s the standard of the football.

It's obviously bad tonight but we're still leagues ahead of the malaise around Sheffield United/Arsenal/Villa. We were absolutely broken then. We just need to make sure the run of defeats we're inevitably going to have doesn't terminally effect the morale, as was clearly the case before Jones arrived.

Encouraging signs apparently

Everyone knows it happens , we are gone, these are terrible .

There's a long way to go yet. Relegation is obviously a huge threat, but we're pretty lucky the bottom three are also grin.

Let’s see after Sunday as I’d be very surprised if the gap is more than 3 (maybe even less). Currently Fulham look on a different level to us and we have our best player and only consistent goal scorer out for 2 months.

Fulham have won three games all season. A win against a really poor Everton has put us under pressure, but Burnley will be a much tougher game for them.

Burnley and Sheff Utd should be tougher, strangely. At least they'll be switched on.

Fulham with that unexpected win and Wilson being out for so long. We’re fucked, I reckon. Need to get a couple of wins and when we have that decent run of games against Wolves, WBA, Villa and Brighton. Think we’re screwed if not. The ‘easier’ games are few and far between until the last two against Sheff Utd and Fulham.

We still play - Wolves / West Brom / Brighton / Burnley / Fulham / Sheffield United

If we don't lose these games and pick up a mix of draws and wins we will be fine. Still probably finish 16th/17th. There's still a massive element of hoping Fulham not going on the run of their lives.

All well and good saying we still have to play these teams. We’ve only beat two of them this season

Just have to hope we keep ticking along with 4 points from Wolves, WBA, Villa and Brighton.

Then Wilson comes back for the last 7 or 8 games, so we can squeeze a win.

Having said that, I had us and Fulham get 32 pts on a relegation predictor.

It’s a good job we’ve got a manager who knows how to ease players back into the side to avoid re-injury.

We've got Man Utd, which is an obvious defeat, then it's Wolves and West Brom, followed by a relatively kind set of fixtures all the way until mid-April.

Wolves and West Brom are really important games because if we don't find at least three points there, we're headfirst into some steep downwards momentum, with no incoming coach or incoming transfers to jolt us out of a new malaise.

But if we stop the impending rot there, I think that'll form a line in the sand and by the middle of April, relegation won't even be on our minds. So they're big games, them two.

It rests on Bruce/Jones finding an alternative focal point at the top of the pitch to Wilson, and particularly players like ASM, Almiron, Fraser and Willock performing; but I feel pretty certain that there's sufficient talent in the squad to ensure we keep ourselves ahead of Fulham, even if they keep improving.
