Takeover Thread - July 1st statement, Staveley letter to Tracey Crouch (and response) in OP

Recommended Posts

It's like politics. People seem to pick their side and stick to it no matter what. Republicans vs Democrats or Takeover hopers vs no hopers it's all the same.

I think what some seem to forget (or not, depending on if they are just trolling) is that the positive optimists are clinging to this because the alternative is more Ashley and more Bruce which really is terminal for our club in my opinion.

So for me its only the hope of the takeover that keeps me from completely giving up what was once a massive part of my life.

The joy I will feel should the takeover go through will be pure relief and positivity for the future. If it doesn't then not much will change compared to the despair I feel now. Although it will be easier to detach from watching once hope is truly gone.

For the pessimists, I wonder if they will share the same joy if this takeover went through, or if it will be dampened because they wanted to be the ones to say to everyone "told you so" if it didn't happen.

Absolutely nailed it!

Illogical : Deal is off. MA seeking compensation for lost deal.

Logic: photos of loafs of bread etc . Daft letter writing sod off Twitter. Mimms(rip).

Class

Manor Park will be along again in a moment to deliver another sermon

"We are gathered here today, as I read from Keith Chapter . . . "

(is that a sermon?)

This thread is (tonight for the first time in a while) actually filling in time until the inevitable news breaks !!

His writing style is nothing like Edwards if you ask me. Edwards is way more petty and he'd be on here all the time - he couldn't help himself

I mean he obviously feels he has the same source, unless Edwards IS his source?

They definitely share the same opinions, I just think the tone is different. Luke seems more bitchy and petulant,..quite childish.

Hold on - just because Keith has put an indeterminate amount of money into a project that may or may not have any bearing whatsoever on the takeover, it doesn’t mean he is totally immune from any well meaning questions or criticism at all.

I don’t think he’s doing any harm and, quite frankly, he can crack on as far as I’m concerned but blindly following him and expecting him to not answer any questions in a civil and detailed fashion is a bit strange.

A lot of it isn’t well meaning tho. That lawyer lass has said he & Kennedy are misleading fans etc from day one and she’s not let it go since.

What Keith is essentially saying is if you don’t believe or agree with what he’s doing then let him get on with it and we’ll see what happens.

Didn't Hitler say something similar?

Wow just wow.

Comparing Keith to Adolf, just when I thought it couldn’t get any lower in here tonight.

Hang your f***ing head pal.

Chill Winston. It was only a commercial.

But in truth, I wasn't. comparing anybody to anybody. I was comparing statements, and questioning what the appropriate response to such statements should be.

It's that Red Rose Michelle lass on twitter who kicked off most of the animosity towards Keith. She has a band of desperate male followers who'll back her regardless in some pathetic attempt to get noticed or a like off her.

Thing is what people forget is that she got almost everything wrong the 1st time around and when someone put her CV onto twitter the other week it showed that she's a very inexperienced solicitor with no experience in this field.

Her rage at wasting MP time during a pandemic is a bit rich aswell, she openly admits she sent a letter the 1st time round. I’m quite sure they have enough spare time to deal with multiple issues, and likewise govt ministers.

She's on there for the sole purpose of boosting her social media profile, pure and simple and shes succeeded there I'll give her that. She's a solicitor (calls her lself a lawyer to make it sound more interesting even though Lawyer is just an American term for Solicitior).

My wife is a Solicitor as well. She's been qualified in excess of 20 years now and owns her own practice. Her main specialist areas are Family, probate and to a lesser extent, criminal. If you were unfairly dismissed from your job or you wanted to claim for an accident you'd had she would politely direct you to a specialist in that field as, in her words, she wouldn't necessarily know a great deal more than you do as it's not a part of Law she practices in.

Similarly the red Michelle lass won't necessarily know a great deal more than your average, but fairly well educated person in the street, about legal matters in this takeover (which is why she got mostly everything wrong from March-August and tried to compensate for that by using fairly raunchy Profile photos to make up for her lack of and real expertise to keep people hanging onto her words).

There’s literally nothing weird at all about a solicitor calling themselves a lawyer.  The US term for a lawyer is usually attorney.

You are incorrect. In America a Lawyer is trained in the field of general law and will offer advice in accordance with the law and an Attorney is qualified and also licensed to represent a client in court. It's not simply a case of them being two different terms.

Happy to agree to disagree on this one!

I am lawyer in England and I work for a US law firm.  In England a solicitor can still call themselves a lawyer - this is 100% not an issue at all. In the US, the terms lawyer and attorney are used interchangeably - no distinction is generally made between the terms.

But let’s leave it there - this is even more of a waste of time than the takeover debate.

Literally the first word in her bio is "Solicitor", like.

My apologies as I haven't seen her Bio for a while. She used to use the word Lawyer all the time when trying to underline her own importance.

She is a lawyer.  However all lawyers come to a crossroads eventually  where they opt to either follow the solicitor path or the barrister path.

IMTTS shouldnt be banned either. Just because he's saying what people dont want to hear. Whether he's correct or not.

There's another thread on here called 'Positive Optimism' btw.

https://www.newcastle-online.org/forum/index.php?topic=104159.msg7192461#msg7192461

No he should be banned for evading his previous ban surely?  Not asking for a ban, don't care much about his posts.  But that would seem a legitimate reason.
