Takeover Thread - July 1st statement, Staveley letter to Tracey Crouch (and response) in OP

Recommended Posts

The judge said that Barclays had acted deceptively and improperly but didn't award her any damages on some technicality.

So she basically wasn't wrong in her case.. She just didn't have enough to nail them.

Every post you make is designed to inflame and irritate. You have absolutely nothing else in your locker. Troll.

I don't normally respond to posts like this.

I have explained the facts and the logic of my conclusions so many times in the past, I am the exact and precise opposite of (what you describe) a "Troll".

While trying not to repeat myself, the current run of events leads me to the ever more certain belief that it is only a matter of time until our Takeover is approved, the logical conclusion of all of this is - Approval.

I dislike the vitriol that is addressed - without foundation - at people like me, Whitley, and Keith.

There is no need for it, it is irrational, and I wish you would just stop.

Having said that, if you choose to continue, then so be it, that attitude will have no impact on the Takover, it is just unnecessary and disappointing.

We are all Newcastle United Supporters, can some of you on here not remember that when considering a response to people who believe (very) differently from you about NUFCs imminent future.

There, I have responded, ok?

Imagine this place if the takeover actually does happen. It’s going to be even more ridiculous than it has been at times, but at least we will all be arguing about which formation to get the best out of Haaland....

You haven't presented any facts or logic at all. You have just noted that Ashley is taking action against the PL and assumed that he is going to win. There is glaring evidence out there right now that it's going to be an uphill struggle to win. The club has a chance but the odds are 50/50 at best.

Every chance that the CAT ends up like that. Gotta love the way law works eh?

Yet plenty of people continue to respond and get wound up by it.
You'd think they would learn to deal with it by now.

Why should they have to ‘deal with it’? The guy is a troll and only posts on the takeover threads. Has no interest in any other aspect of the club or the forum. It shouldn’t be up for everyone else just accept it

It's just how you keep rambling on about it being a foregone conclusion that it's happening.

No one on here has a clue what's happening behind the scenes so stop pretending that you do.

Yes obviously discuss it, that's what the thread is for but constantly saying it's happening is doing people's tits in.

It just makes you look ridiculous, i'm not even having a go at you, you are probably a sound person, i'm just saying.

Because it's been so repetitive, surely it's boring now to everyone who's been on this forum for longer than six months.
I can only talk about myself personally but I did get wound up by them too in the early days but as time has worn on,  it's been easy to just scroll past them and not be bothered by them.

The irony of the amount of people coming in this thread just to personally attack a few posters seems to be lost on them. Offering fuck all but insults. Not counter-arguments...just lectures on their own perception of forum etiquette. Making them look ridiculous...not the other way round. Fucking children.

It's way more tiresome and boring than the over-optimistic few.

Manorpark might do people's tits in...but he's been posting on here for over a fucking decade and always gave good information about the history of the club and certain eras of development. He's far from a Troll. The trolls are those coming in here being massive fucking bores.

"Nobody knows what's going on, so your opinion makes you looks stupid!" is the mantra...yet yous do they exact same thing, just from the opposite angle. And with same tone of objectivity. And no, it's not a discussion...it's bellend behaviour that none of those people would get away with in the real world.

The forum felt light and breezy during the short time these threads were inaccessible.

He may be a good poster in other areas but he has become nothing but a troll on anything takeover related.

And if we are talking insults, you only need to look at one of his latest posts. Could he actually be any more condescending?

Pop him on ignore, like.

The biggest irony is that the ones that are wound up by him are the only ones quoting him.

I just fancy a thread on the takeover where we discuss the takeover. Seems simple enough.

This thread was always going to get toxic before the PL submit their evidence for the jurisdiction challenge. A big long wait with zero news getting out.

That's the 11th.. God knows how long the judge will take to deliberate over that.

Everything you see on here, twitter etc is just noise between now and then.

Can someone actually give an update?  Are we WAITING for the results of CAT now?

Yes. It's simply a case of WAITING a little more.

It's only been 3 years, 8 months of WAITING so far.

It's definitely "happening"

Disclosure for arbitration has come and gone. Disclosure for the CAT case is later in the month, after the Premier League were granted an extension, but the case itself is expected to take a lot longer. There was even talk of early next year before a decision is reached.

The deadline for disclosure in the arbitration was 26th May (if the extension the PL requested was agreed).

The deadline for evidence in the arbitration is 9th June (if the extension the PL requested was agreed).

The deadline for submission of the PL's CAT jurisdiction challenge is 11th June.

I think the next think we will probably hear is the outcome of the CAT jurisdiction challenge, maybe sometime around the end of this month.

I think the takeover probably hangs on the outcome of the arbitration, the CAT case would take too long, it might just be there at this stage mostly to put pressure on the PL to settle the arbitration.

I thought Keith made it pretty clear last week that he gets all his craic from QC O’Donoghue. I was a bit worried at first that he had some Micky Mouse solicitor on it, like Warwick Davis and his accountant.

Just a hypothetical... If we steam roller them in count or they fold and agree to settle at the first whiff of disclosure, would your opinion of Keith change? It would after all mean he was right all along - rock solid case, never in doubt etc.

My opinion of Keith is pretty simple: He's done a stand up job getting things done from a fan's perspective but as a quasi-official spokesperson for the hhe has slowly started to unravel.  I would have hoped (expected) that someone in his position would be more reserved.  Instead, as the months have rolled on, he's more likely to sling shite at those who disagreed with him as opposed to reasoned responses or not responding at all.  Right now, IMO, he's no different that a whole bunch of twitter twats.  His ideal would have been to rise above the fray...he hasn't
