nbthree3
He fears that exposing this "cartel" might make PIF uncertain because they'd be investing into a tarnished brand, as for delays to PL arbitration "nobody knows." He's right on that second point.

Apparently he’s had potential new buyers of the club approach him and everything. I’ve heard Ashley consulted him before stepping down at SD and he’s turned down a place on Strictly Come Dancing because he’s a proper Saudi now, two blokes dancing together is just evil. Bigger things in the works though, he’s lined up to star as Binman No2 alongside Wraith in the gritty underworld thriller Skips & Bins the movie. gdm
Wait, so the CAT case is where the evidence would come out that would expose the ‘cartel’ and Keith was apparently the one that started the CAT case? So it’s Keith’s fault PIF are gonna walk away

Ben
The Premier Leagues updated standards are taking the piss out of us. At the Premier League, the following values influence the way we think, communicate and behave with each other and the world around us: Ambitious: Playing the world’s most competitive and compelling football. Striving for excellence in everything we do. Thinking big; not setting any unnecessary limits or barriers. Inspiring: Sharing everyone’s excitement and passion for the game. Creating experiences that excite people and invigorate lives. Remembering that we are fans too. Connected: Being for everybody, everywhere. Being easy and open to work with. Listening as well as talking Fair: Being objective, responsible and trustworthy. Safeguarding the integrity of the game. Thinking of tomorrow when making decisions for today We use these values to determine what we do and say and they underpin our purpose: to support our clubs in putting on the best possible football and to inspire fans, communities and partners alike to invigorate lives across the globe. This Statement of Principles outlines the standards and behaviours required to conduct our business ethically and to comply with the law. Everyone who works for or on behalf of the Premier League ("Premier League Personnel") is expected to uphold these high standards. Integrity: We expect all Premier League Personnel to conduct themselves with integrity and in a manner that reflects positively on the image of the Premier League and football in general. We expect all Premier League Personnel to be reliable, professional, honest and trustworthy both in dealings with each other and third parties. This guiding principle informs the others that follow, and encompasses all aspects of our activities.

He's right on that second point. Its quite plain that the EPL are just going to continue kicking the can in order to avoid the courts actually making a decision. However there is a presumption in law that a failure to comply with a direction is an indication that the party has something to hide that is not supportive of their case which would allow the court to draw an adverse inference. Evetually a judge will lose patience with the EPL and Bird and Bird and will refuse any further delays and will issue directions requiring the EPL to produce evidence to support their argument. Failure to do so will lead the Judge to draw an adverse inference. Thats when the Judge will find in our favour. I hope!!!
Jinky Jim
From BBC Website. Premier League still the 'most competitive league in Europe', says chief executive Masters Masters has dismissed the idea that England's top clubs are pulling away from the rest of the division. "I don't think that is the case," said Masters, asked if the gap was widening between the top clubs and the rest. "It certainly hasn't been proven yet." How does he get away with such bullshit and is never questioned or grilled by the Media. ……Cos the Media are also in love with the “supposed” big 6 I guess. TRon
Masters still unashamedly plugging the fair deal Big 6 I see. He's so blatant he obviously believes he'll continue to be sponsored to spout propaganda long into the future.

Yorkie
Arsenal and Spurs finished 7th and 8th. Liverpool only got into the Champions League cos Leicester bottled 4th again. A David Moyes team finished 6th. A team who hasn't featured in the division for the best part of two decades nearly got to 60 points. Leicester won the league five years ago. The league is competitive and debating whether or not it is at the moment is entirely the wrong conversation and deflecting from the issues that really do need to be raised. I.e., is it going to be competitive in perpetuity, and are the structural, political and financial forces that hold such influence going to cause irreversible damage to competition in the future? Answer that one, Richard. A small but important/critical distinction.
Abacus
Agreed. A more simple question might be; Richard, do you think that giving certain clubs a permanent financial advantage will mean the league will always remain as competitive? If so, despite all logic, then on what basis should those select clubs be chosen? And why are Spurs even there ??
