Wonder if Amanda fancies coming back with other investors.

Unlikely, especially if she didn't leave on the best of terms.

I reckon she’ll be looking to get in at West Ham. Fans that detest their owner, London location, financial distress if they go down - but huge potential upside - makes them a decent project.

So our clubs worth increased from 300m to 1.5bn? And how much investment has been injected by PIF since takeover?

Sounds like a masterpiece by PIF and Staveley - and also about time to, reap the rewards?

Not really. Cost £1.3bn to buy us.

Isn’t this a continuation of the story earlier this week to find partners to fund the stadium?

yeah, but now putting 'firm' numbers on it.

Think the initial rumours of selling a stake had suggested it was to raise around £55m

25% is a canny chunk, like, even if they do retain full control.

Aye, feels like a very big chunk on the surface. I wonder what the logic is behind it.

Wasn't expecting them to sell equity .

Excuse Me Wow GIF by Mashable

PIF paid £1 billion to break the takeover deadock after trying actively not to have to for 2yrs almost. Once Bein had their money with 24hrs the takeover was complete for a further £305 to Ashley.

So to purchase the club they spent £1.3bn.

If that’s true ( any links? ) it’s still not the purchase price/value of the club though.

Where were you during the takeover?!

It’s still the price they had stump up overall to purchase us. That’s why I scratch my head at those who think they are not committed.

They've also put in:

£453m by issuing and buying shares in the club.

£172m by buying the St. James' Park lease from themselves

Whatever it cost to buy Leazes Terrace and other property

£100m+ in related party sponsorships

Overall the cost of owning us has probably been more than £2bn

Issuing new shares, but ain’t sure whether PIFs controlling % would be diluted. It depends on the type of shares going to issue.

Probably this is for complying with PSR - we don’t need to pay interests and thus can lower the financial cost

Tbf they've probably spent more at LIV and have pulled out of that

I'm sure purchasing NUFC was a big part of the reason to resolve the piracy issue.  I seriously doubt it was even close to the only reason.  That £1 billion payment can't just be dumped on the club price in it's entirety.  I do think they're committed to the club long term though.  Because this is a long term investment fund so they aren't in this to flip quick profits.  Their aim will be to keep driving the value of the club to help increase the value of the fund.

The value of the club might have hit a ceiling with the cap on spending meaning we can't catapult ourselves into the super league club where the really big money is. I also think that's one of the reasons why there won't be anyone willing to buy us outright even if PIF do put us up for sale.

Top 7/8 finishes is not that attractive when there is no way to push higher except hope everything goes your way.

Yes, but even taking that out completely they've lumped in a billion plus on us and demonstrated that without, or even with, massive ongoing investment we're not able to get anywhere near the established big 6 financially.

It's pie in the sky to think we some sort of great investment financially, it doesn’t add up.

I think the reasons they've invested in us are much more likely to be strategic / image based or just because influential people within PIF like football.
