I think the context of that clip is slightly misleading. I think it looks like it was right when we got took over and every uninformed media person assumed we had mega money and would attract all the big name managers and players. 

 

So it looks like they were laughing at the first Newcastle fan to call up and be sensible and want to build realistically with youth and a manager like Howe they laughed him off because they probably thought we'd be wanting a big name and players like Mbappe. Howe had been out of work for a year or so post Bournemouth relegation. 

 

Not that this defends them as they are still no nothing idiots and since this clip their clubs have gone backwards and we have had champions league and won a cup now. So jokes well and truly on them.

No one is aware of it because the media spend every week only belittling the managers that can actually organise a side. Modern fans seem to think Howe is a football god and Benitez style is out of date had to listen to the cheek of a Fulham fan say it the other day.

 

In Eddie Howe’s case you have to be one hell of a naive manager defensively when a team managed by Jokanovic for a big chunk of the season is the only man to concede more than you.

 

Funny how all these media darlings that the public sheep then fantasize over(Wagner, Jokankovic and Howe) all have the worst defensive records.

 

The public are now absolutely obsessed with it being the “Right way” to play even with relegation sides. Even Fulham fans are singing for Jokanovic to come back and save them have they not learnt anything? Concerns are his defensive record (hopefully he's thought on this during his lengthy time off) and it sounds daft but his apparent unwillingness to move from the South Coast up to now. Hope he doesn't have bother settling or anything.

 

The relegation doesn't worry me, almost all managerial spells fizzle out in the end and they only narrowly went down in the end anyway. Maybe the relegation takes the job he did at Bournemouth down to an A from an A+, but no more than that as the job he did there was unbelievable. 

 

There's a lot to get excited about imo - attractive style of play, innovative methods, obsessive attention to detail and also this is a bloke who has had ample time out of the game to recharge and doubtless feels like he has something to prove now. 

 

See no reason why both Howe and NUFC can't push on together now, but we do need wins soon if we're to attract decent players in January. He needs to galvanise the squad quickly and I think he has the type of personality where he can do that.
