We doubled down on the high intensity, pressing style that got us success last season in the summer. Tonali would've aided with this and will next season, but we largely have only one way of playing and don't alter it too much (think the only time we only really did was against Spurs (H) which we hugely benefitted from). People will twist. Schar isn’t fully fit either though. You can’t have it both ways, can’t complain about not resting/rotating enough and then also complain when he doesn’t rush them back. He will be given next season and rightly so, but he will be under massive pressure to deliver. We could absorb attack after attack, this season we’ve flipped and are scoring a boatload but have completely lost the balance at the other end. The takeover started with us essentially buying a new back 4 and keeper and I think that’s where we need to go back to now. Focus on the spine of the side. Look at Longstaff for example, one of our main signings is his replacement. The fact is most of the season there’s been very little meaningful choices to be made.
