Presuming you disagree, he's right and you are wrong. Playing the best side on the world, it was hardly bad.

There is no wrong or right there's opinions. Liverpool didn't have to get out of second gear. A lot of average performances - only stand out for me was Hall. We're better than what we showed.

Reading between the lines, do t think we see Isak again before the final.

Didn't realise that stat either that in the league, we have haven't won any or scored any when he's been missing? Eesh.

Gordon against City but that was a penalty not open play

The Mike Ashley years have been erased from your mind already ?

They were the worst....its like he had a mental block on us after the keegan debacle. He could so easily have  made money from us regularly with a little bit of investment, but looked entirely like spite and vengeance took over.

Only way to explain Kinnear, Pardew, Carver and Bruce with The chief stapler being CEO

You're not kidding there, his mission after that was to piss us off no matter what and he loved every second of doing it

Think he'll play at West Ham.

Eddie has alluded to getting Pope, Botman and Joe match sharp in recent weeks. Don't think he'll want Isak sat out too long.

The comment that was something like 'here we have to get them fit out of the team, before they come back into the team' was an interesting one IMO.  Perhaps not on the face of it.  But with all the smoke and mirrors and how careful we are with our social media stuff and team news.  I wonder how much the likes of Botman, Joelinton, Wilson, Pope etc.  Have been doing away from all the cameras.  Like you'll see that they're back in training sometimes with the odd photo.  But he often keeps his cards close to his chest in press conferences and nothing really leaks from the the training pics unless planned.

I don't really buy that Joelinton and Botman would potentially just train with the team for the first time in a good few weeks today and then have a chance of being back on Sunday.  They must have been doing some fairly extensive stuff away from the cameras.  It was why it took my by surprise that Botman was straight back in and bar a short spell.  Didn't look particularly rusty.  They had been doing loads with him and was back in full training and behind closed doors matches and more than Howe let on.

Either that or he's just bluffing and they're nowhere near :(  Which would be a bit shit from our POV.

Seen this many times now, don't doubt the Howe, he'll see it right.

Even ignoring the rest of what this season could bring, actually being able to freshen the squad up with 3 or 4 players, will be just what we need to continue growing under Eddie.

Currently 6th, two points from Champions League qualification, in the final of the League Cup, and the 5th round of the FA Cup.

Don't doubt him.

This is where I'm at as well. I think it's unreasonable to expect higher than 7th, but with Man U and Spurs having disastrous seasons, 5th and CL looked more than on a month ago. It would be disappointing if a club like Forest or Bournemouth finished ahead of us.

Agreed - 7th is about right for us.

But with 2 of the 6 teams above us out of  it. The team 8th not likely to finish above us.  Having 2 teams 9th or below in wages and squad cost finish above us would be a disappointment.

Last year we finished 7th. Finished below 1 team with equal/less resources than us but above 1 with more. Fucking fair.

When I saw the mention I had a look at his X and thought it was about his Starmer fetish but that's worse.

Bloke's an absolute tool.

We can’t blame FFP for all of our woes if we end up finishing behind either Forest or Bournemouth, considering our resources, transfer spend since PIF came in and the size of our wage bill compared to theirs.

If we want to close the gap financially on the sky six then we need to take advantage of the seasons that one or a couple of them implode, as they are unlikely to be down there for more than a season or two.

If we can’t do that, because Forest or Bournemouth have taken the spot, then that is a failure on our part.

If we don't finish above Forest AND Bournemouth then this season has been a failure?  Is that what you are saying?  Give me strength!  🤨

Guessing both have spent a lot more than us over the last 18 months though ? Don’t forget, the majority of our spend was necessary because of the state Ashley left the club in.

The majority of their spend has been necessary to be fair, Bournemouth and Forest finished 15th and 16th respectively at the end of the 2022/23 season and Forest finished 17th last season.

We have a bigger net spend than Forest in the last 2 seasons too. Bournemouth have spent more since then but they also sold their best player to help finance it.

If we are going to use financial income, wages and squad cost as a reason as to why we can’t be expected to compete with Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City, then it is fair to question why we are not capable of finishing above both Bournemouth and Forest, should that be the case at the end of the season, considering the financial income, wages and squad cost advantages we have over them.
