Conjo
It's a much harder task to replace a team than a manager, but I'd love management/owners to double down on Howe and go for a mass exodus of players and give Howe the chance to build a new team. Lock down Burn, Schar (both won't fetch a meaningful fee anyway due to age, and both are great leaders), Botman, Thiaw, Hall, Bruno and Miley as do not sell. Let anyone else who wants to leave that we get a fair offer for leave.
LionOfGosforth
28 minutes ago, Yorkie said: I think I'm reaching the point where I don't mind what happens in the summer. On the one hand, I believe in all of the things I've said previously - he's not the reason we are where we are, and a terrible end to the season is just the last domino to fall in a chain which started with PSR and Isak. We were designed to fail this season and we have done. They did their best, did alright in the CL, made a decent defence of the cup. But the Barca/Mackem week kettled it cos the league campaign has never looked like building momentum. Put it down as somewhat circumstantial and give it another bash next season. On the other hand, there's no denying we're at a bit of a crossroads as a club and with more high profile departure/s to come in the summer, with awful negativity only likely to fester over the remaining games - maybe it's better for everyone that we have a clean break at this point. I don't know if they're done with the boss or just done with the season, but the players don't have it in them now. Dunno, torn and feel awful. I'd see him go tomorrow if a sequence of bad results is going to cop him more and more of the disgraceful disrespect that's likely to follow. We'd never have any legends of Twitter existed in the 70s, 80s and 90s. This is roughly where i'm at. I was still Eddie in after the Barca/mackem debacle week so it would make me as fickle as anyone if I was now Eddie out after losing at home to bloody Bournemouth, which we routinely seem to do anyway. Point being, a couple of bad random results shouldn't change the mid to long term feelings. It's a bit more than that at this point though, the players aren't putting in a shift anymore. Is that just this season is over or is there more to it? I still think he's earned the grace of a down season given all the context of last summer, many in here clearly disagree. That said, ultimately, just like in the beginning when he was questioned before turning it around, it comes down to results and this season has been pretty bad and not fun to watch at all. The players want shooting with shit for the past couple of performances, nowhere near good enough. Maybe something has gone on behind the scenes because I don't think this group has ever been this poor and lacking confidence or fight. I think there are valid points and criticisms on both sides, feel how you want to feel over it, want him to stay or go, however the "get him out now" crowd, that's disrespectful, horseshit craic like. 500bhp
8 defeats in last 11 league games and some people still want Howe in charge next season. It's that type of attitude that separates the successful clubs from the also rans. Our owners want to be challenging for top honours in the next four years. Whether that's realistic or not that's their on the record goal. No way Howe will be in charge next season. If they haven't already the board will be sounding out replacements this week. Dr Venkman
I can’t defend this. Was hopeful that we would look more like Eddie’s mags once we had one game a week. That CP away performance rattled me massively, we were fucking dreadful. I didn’t bother watching today as it felt like an absolutely nailed on loss and I didn’t want to give them the opportunity to ruin my weekend. First game I’ve missed since the take over. I’m now fully expecting he’ll go at the end of the season. Feels shite, my favourite ever NUFC manager, absolute legend. This is really, really bad though and I don’t expect he recovers now. toon25
3 minutes ago, midds said: That looks like it's it imo. Didn't see all of the match today but what I did see was just more of the same dross that's been served up for months now. Same mistakes, same formation, same lack of desire and fight, same lack of marking, sloppy passing, shocking wing play and virtually zero threat going forward. There's usually a match that gets remembered as being 'the one' that tipped the balance in the crowd and I think that one today (on the heels of the derby surrender) has done it for him. I think there's a decent chance that the players have given up on him and have just got sick of hearing the same things from the same voices, game after game, month after month - the whole club feels either stale, dysfunctional or just generally broken and I don't think Howe's got enough left in the tank to fix it. My prediction is that we'll get a fucking good hiding at Arsenal and he'll be sacked or mutually consented a few days later. The club will limp on until the end of the season and we'll finish 15th. Fair play to those who still believe and have a bit of positivity but I can't see a single area that's positive about the club - we look like a club in freefall and some of the people apparently who are running the gaff day-to-day need to walk too. It's been a shitshow of a season and I can't wait for it to be over - genuinely abysmal stuff This. So sad to see this state of affairs, but absolutely nobody should be laying the blame at Eddie's door. At every corner when we had a chance to push on, he's been let down. And now, unfortunately, he's being let down by the shower of shit on the pitch who are looking over their shoulders at the Isak shit show and thinking 'great, there's our roadmap for an out'. All of this also isn't taking into account that fucking shit stain on football that the likes of the cartel 6 are. If putting a cap on competition wasn't enough, the extent to which they - and their client hour is - have the capacity to destablise competitors is fucking astounding. Kimbo
I think any objective observer will be seeing a successful manager coming to the end of his time at a club, it’s a story we’ve seen many times. Right now we’re bombing the tail end of the season and don’t seem to be trying anything new. Even if he gets a few wins in the last few games I can see it being dismissed as wins against players phoning it in. If I was betting on it I think he’ll be gone at the end of the season. Menace
Every season players have improved under Howe - who has improved under him this season? The way he has handled the Woltemade situation, chasing Elanga for 2 years, spending £45M on Jacob Ramsey. Wissa. Losing the derby, with two gutless performances. Twice. He's had an awful season. Rich
The boos around the place when everyone saw Woltemade stripped off after it went 2-1, sheesh. He doesn't help himself at times, Wor Eddie. Woltemade for Barnes and Osula shuffling out wide was the play there many minutes earlier, surely?

Buying half a new team just is not feasible under the restrictions. If we cant make huge changes to the team a managerial change feels pretty essential. Carrying on with this current crew should be off the table.
