Eddie Howe is the first English manager to finish in the top 12 of the Champions League league phase and the first to win a Champions League two-legged playoff. Also the first to do so against an Azerbaijani club.

Can’t take any of that away from the King.

Keep him til the day he's happy to move upstairs and then we can call him Chairman Howe.

For alliterative reasons, he could then move out Birtley/Chester le Street way and become Chairman Howe from Barley Mow.

It was Edwards that asked that question.

Ryder asked if it was good having players that could play in different positions. A straightforward, if somewhat stupid, question, but he somehow managed to ask it in a way that required Eddie to clarify what he meant. Again.

Someone will say Eddie Howe is the first English manager to win the Champions League and @TheBrownBottle will have a coronary

😁

It would be the greatest trophy win of the competition by an English manager.  I’m also worried that there isn’t enough gold available on earth to cast the giant gold Eddie statue I’d demand, which I’d want bestriding the banks of the Tyne like a colossus.

We're leaking too many goals and he needs to fix that sharpish. The "no clean sheet in 11" thing is a little harsh when we've played City twice, Liverpool, PSG, Villa twice in that run, but the likes of Qarabag and Everton rolling in soft goals against us isn't good.

That said, despite us not being great in that first half, he's been let down by our shambolic goalkeeper once again. We should be level really and because of that gormless fuck in nets we're left with a mountain to climb.

It’s his choice to keep playing Pope though. Paid a £5m loan fee plus wages for Ramsdale, and he only got in when Pope dropped a series of clangers, otherwise he wouldn’t have played for us.

Ramsdale is worse, it's not even a debate imo.
