Hard-tackling, mobile defensive midfield player who does aim to get the ball forward. Nothing great, but just what we need. You'll see.

Genuine question what do you think the big upgrade from Hayden is with Choudhury? What will he add that will make the big difference that Hayden doesn't add?

He's clearly a moron if he wants to come here.

He is, he plays like one too.

A literal walking red card. Playing him and Shelvey next to one another would be the most pedestrian midfield ever known to man.

The only positive is we’d almost certainly be relegated if he joins.

Hayden is a cross between a centre back and a central midfielder. Choudhury has the sort of quick movements, energy and agility of a DM like Kante, though obviously not in the same league. Unlike Hayden, even when he gets beaten, he can recover to put in another challenge. Our defence doesn't get the right protection, and he can do a decent job for us there.

He’s not too unlike Shelvey only dirtier.

Unlike Shelvey the lad actually runs around and puts effort in, works hard in fact he's nothing like Shelvey really, other than playing in central midfield.

Still a poor signing but it's where we are, a poor signing for a poor team representing a poor club. We are pathetic.

I get where you are coming from, but I think you're overselling him there. He's got a decent engine from the little I've seen of him, which I suppose makes him an upgrade on most of our midfield already, but he's pretty agricultural on the ball. Not that it matters much while Bruce is manager.

Bookies favourites to get Phil Jones before the window shuts.

Only 6-8 weeks from full fitness and hasn't played since February 2020. Will be a good catch, like shooting dead fish in a barrel.

To be honest if (and its a big if) he stayed fit he'd be our best CB. You don't play 200 games for Man U if you're shite.

He's another Nicky Butt in waiting. Past his sell by date, and the only reason we would sign him is because Bruce likes Man U and British players.
