Realistic Transfer Targets (2025/26)

Chance we’ll have Hall and Tino back available by then?

Even if they are I guess its then a question of if your ok Tino being Halls back up or Dan burn being the hall back up assuming Trips played both sides for England but needs to stay on the right when playing.

While it was right for targett to go we really should have bought a player to replace him. BDB does and will do a job but even his biggest admirers would admit him playing there is less than ideal.

Depending how we are doing in the season and what other needs the side has it may have to wait till the summer and we see if trips, kraft, schar all extend another year or not.

Yeah I think we need a backup leftback to deputize for Hall. Doesn't need to be anyone too fancy, just a slightly more affluent man's version of Targett will do.

I'd like us to look at decent older players who can be had for relatively cheap. Doesn't make sense to bring in a young prospect given how young Hall himself still is.

Since Tino has shown he’s a very capable backup on the left plus Hall and Burn maybe a right sided fullback would be more desirable?

Think it will be whoever is available that’s on our list and is attainable in January. By end of August we will have signed both a LB and RB IMO, but it may be RB comes Jan and LB summer. Do think the RB will be a raw younger player and LB a more experienced guy. So RB would be better signing in Jan as they get at least 5 months learning from Trippier.

 I'm also of this opinion

I'm dreaming of us getting Acheampong, apparently he can play at RB quite well and is an excellent ball carrier

Read that Valverde is out of favour at Madrid with Alonso in, don't you follow them closely @The College Dropout, is that true?

I'm sure wages are crazily high and he'd have other suitors. Would be the dream Howe midfielder

Haven't followed them closely this season.

But I don't like what Alonso is doing (I notoriously think Madrid are shit.... until they are great). I think you give Carlo - Huijsen, Carreras, Mastantouno, Trent... he does a better a job so far. Every time I watch them, they stink.

Valverde will be at Madrid longer than Alonso.

(if Alonso wins El Clasico I take everything back)

Nico Paz...you can't miss out on this gem who hasn't yet entered the radar of the big clubs.

Paired with Wolte they'd be an extraordinary duo. Obviously you'd have to change the formation from 4-3-3, but Howe, besides being a great coach, I think he's versatile in this regard.

It's true that Real Madrid have the right to buy him back, but they already have Guler in that role and they will certainly focus on the Turk. For a relatively low fee, I think 60, he would be a signing that will give you a definitive leap in quality for years to come.

Seems to be a lot of clubs linked with him but he definitely looks the type of player where crying out for in midfield. Someone like him or Sancet from Bilbao is where we should be looking to spend big next.

Good if next summer we can sign one of Paz or Sancet to provide threat from the midfield, Anderson to muck in a bit farther back, and Vinicius Jr to get up ahead of Woltemade with his pace and goalscoring. Then we'd also need a backup or rotation option at left-back.

Hopefully we have a nice, stress free summer. Two or three top quality signings in early doors, no drama and no major outgoings.

Think we’ll see Krafth, Ashby, Targett, Lascelles and Willock depart. TBC on Ramsdale, Trippier and Schar.

We’ll need to sign a a couple of full backs, a CB if Schar goes and a keeper.

Can see us going in for Anderson if he’s available, if not then a creative midfielder of some variety.

Basically, Matt Targett then

Well we’ve got Kraft. Even if another LB was brought in, Eddie won’t drop Burn from the side so unless we get two injuries at CB, then Burn’s playing at LB.

 It's a no from me, Clive.

a) Leeds nearly had him for £10-12m in the summer.

b) We don't need to spend money on a 5th choice winger.

c) He's got a face you'd never tire of volleying.
