Would be another massive embarrassment if they don’t get this deal done after sprouting off to the media once again on a daily basis.

Hopefully it’s just an agent making noise to get his client the best deal with us.

Club haven’t said anything just random journalists, Waugh ex chronicle says its happening fingers crossed

Random journalists all reporting ‘club confident…’ have clearly been briefed by the club.

As I said, hopefully it’s a redundant point anyway and the deal gets done. Just scarred from the Emery fiasco.

That's nothing new to this club like, most clubs will come out and say stuff like that for any transfer that ends up in the press.

Sometimes putting a touch of pressure on a player via the media isn't the worst thing anyway. I remember when FS told everyone that Micheal Owen had agreed to join Newcastle, I thought it was a masterstroke at the time because it essentially made it impossible for him to back out.

Obviously it turned out shite but made sense at the time.

There’s a list of this stuff:

Muted a point (should be ‘mooted’ from the word ‘moot’)

Change tact (tack)

I’m not adverse to that (averse)

…. and many more.

Needs a topic, my cousins Irish husband loved our family get togethers, he said, you all say words differently,

"ear mek us a brew"

Translation

"Please make me a cup of tea"

There is no chance people think its doggy dog. Come on

Apparently they do, it's the 7th most common eggcorn according to google. The top 3 are:

To be pacific (instead of to be specific)
An escape goat (instead of a scapegoat)
Damp squid (instead of damp squib)

I actually never knew this one, although I can't say I really ever write the term.

More noises today that Chelsea could try and get him with a last minute approach.

Can't blame anyone for making noise, it's that time of year. If he did decide to go there (which I doubt) then he wasn't the right player for us anyway.

But I think he'll be here in the next few days.

Doesn't even come in the top 30:

1. To be pacific (instead of to be specific)
2. An escape goat (instead of a scapegoat)
3. Damp squid (instead of damp squib)
4. Nipped it in the butt (instead of nipped in the bud)
5. On tender hooks (instead of on tenterhooks)
6. Cold slaw (instead of coleslaw)
7. A doggie-dog world (instead of dog-eat-dog world)
8. Circus-sized (instead of circumcised)
9. Lack toast and tolerant (instead of lactose intolerant)
10. Got off scotch free (instead of got off scot-free)
11. To all intensive purposes (instead of to all intents and purposes)
12. Boo to a ghost (instead of boo to a goose)
13. Card shark (instead of card sharp)
14. Butt naked (instead of buck naked)
15. Hunger pains (instead of hunger pangs)
16. Tongue and cheek (instead of tongue-in-cheek)
17. It’s a mute point (instead of moot point)
18. Pass mustard (instead of pass muster)
19. Just deserves (instead of just deserts)
20. Foe par (instead of faux pas)
21. Social leopard (instead of social leper)
22. Biting my time (instead of biding my time)
23. Curled up in the feeble position (instead of curled up in the foetal position)
24. Curve your enthusiasm (instead of curb your enthusiasm)
25. Heimlich remover (instead of Heimlich manoeuvre)
26. Ex-patriot (instead of expatriate)
27. Extract revenge (instead of exact revenge)
28. Self -depreciating (instead of self-deprecating)
29. As dust fell (instead of as dusk fell)
30. Last stitch effort (instead of last ditch effort)

Although I'm surprised not to see 'off your own back' (rather than bat) and 'glitters like gold' (rather than glisters) in there, I see / hear those loads.
