Joelinton7
Sounds to me like scousers are panicking and flailing. They’ve been caught on the hop about how advanced we are with Ekitike’s camp, we’ve told them do one re Isak and they’re in danger of ending up with nothing. Cue a PR firestorm from paid stooges Romano and Ornstein.
Tiresias
I mean presumably they are offering much higher wages than us so i wouldnt be surprised if they do hijack us tbh

If you wanted Isak you should have not blown everything on Wirtz. To then try and muscle in on Ekitike by saying they won’t let us get him if we don’t sell Isak is incredible really. Proper dogshit negotiating and they deserve nowt for how they’ve carried on. Hope they get stung to fuck by this I've never wished ill on any player moving to a rival, not ever. But I truly hope Wirtz turns to absolute dog shit just to hear the scouse cunts moan at him every week. He won't like, unfortunately. I reckon they thought they’d have time to get the Nunez deal done first before making a play for Isak or Ekitike later in the window. We’ve stole a march while they’re in no position to actually bid, so they’re in boat rocking mode. Most likely outcome here definitely feels like they blow us out of the water for Ekitike. Annoying in the short term, but that coupled with Arsenal’s deal for Gyokeres the market for Isak drastically reduces next summer. Their prime want is Isak. They know they'll get money before next June from Nunez and Diaz but they need strikers now and can't get their prime target. So they move on to Ekitike probably as the next best. It's not that they're not allowed to bid for players from other clubs. Of course they are. It's the way they do it. And an expectation that every fkn player is just desperate to wear their shirt. I know they're a much bigger club but the disdain with which the club and fans have for everyone else is nauseating. They're nee more special than every other club but they are convinced they're God's club or some such shite. I just fkn hate them. I do feel a little better now though. Still, it's them who look desperate, not us. They need a top striker, we have one and are trying to double down by buying another top striker which happens to be their (apparent) second choice. They're the ones who aren't in a position they want to be in right now. Edited July 16, 2025 by Wilson
ianbeany
I'm not really arsed about this. If Liverpool get Ekitike and we keep Isak we've won this 'battle' as far as I'm concerned

On neither occasion did we have a bid accepted by their clubs Well we bid, and after that Chelsea came in with not a much bigger bid. By reports Pedro only wanted Chelsea, so why did we bid? Reports could be bullshit, or Pedro bullshitting us.
sturla
Fully understand Liverpool jumping in, they are desperate for a striker. Most irritating about this is Newcastle do all the negotiating work for Liverpool and then they jump in.

sushimonster85
Obviously the best/funniest outcome to all this is us with both players next season. But a pretty close second best scenario is us keeping Isak. If Ekitike wants to go there, let them crack on if it means no more Isak chat.

Someone explain to me what it is I'm supposed to be concerned about here?

It’s not particularly smart at all.
Zero
Just a question, his release clause is 86m euro or 86m pounds?

St1pe
I guess it looks like they’re moving for him now. Keep seeing Liverpool fans saying they’ve got us by the bollocks but surely not signing there no1 target if we keep him and likely ruining themselves out of being able to afford him next year due to PSR isn’t exactly the slam dunk they reckon it is. STM
Aye Liverpool have taught us a right lesson here by *checks notes* us keeping our best player and them getting their second choice target. That's even if they still get Ekitike ahead of us. Something is missing from this story, perhaps they cant cant afford what we are offering after signing Wirtz. What I do like is that we've remained calm, we might not sign Ekitike but we will get someone.
