Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Still not sure if we're being used again by player and agent. Probably smoking out Liverpool to make their move.

Too many journos with Newcastle sources saying the same thing for it to be that I reckon. Always the danger that they swoop in though so hopefully it gets done today or tomorrow.

How do you get the links so fast? News now or just gradually followed loads of people on Twitter?

They don't call him The Prophet for no reason you know.

Like we never think that way the other way round.

Spurs meeting Forest release clause for MGW. We'd never think nice one they've done the work now we swoop in.

It's blatantly obvious this is more than just agents flushing out other suitors. Granted he may choose someone else if it doesn't happen quickly enough, but it's abundantly clear that the club are very serious.

I think we're definitely interested and wouldn't be surprised if we are speaking to the club/player but that doesn't mean our interest isn't being heavily leaked to encourage Liverpool (or someone else) to make a move.

The Romano tweet about our bid being higher than another club's offer was pretty transparent.

I think alot of things can be true at the same time.

I think Frankfurt are happy dealing with us and Ekitike is keen on the move but its the speed in which things can change which is the danger.

I echo that it must happen quickly. We can't haggle on a fee for weeks with this one.

if Chelsea come in to sign him, story is dead. Same applies to Liverpool too.

Think we either get some sort of confirmation today or this drags on for a while and we all get progressively sad and frustrated

The latter, then it gets done later in the week and everyone looks like a whinging fanny as usual.

I don’t think this logic really makes much sense. If he doesn’t want to sign for us then he’ll wait for another club to come in. If everyone wants the deal then we’ll get it done. I’m not really sure taking an extra day to finalise it will make any difference at all. It only takes a few minutes for his agent to call Liverpool or Chelsea if that’s what he wants.

Honestly though, it’s a win either way.

We get him, amazing. We don’t and Liverpool get him, also cool. Means Isak’s staying and we can all pretend we’re not hurt by calling him a PSG cast-off and not at all an elite coup. So yeah, vibes are immaculate. Cope levels in check. Carry on.

Despite many good things happening to us in the past 4 years or so, I still can't comprehend a world where Newcastle would have both Ekitike and Isak in the same squad. I refuse to believe it's true, this must be the agents using us to smoke out Liverpool or whoever.

Call it bedwetting or Ashley era trauma if you want

I used to think like that but the penny finally dropped when we won the League Cup that this is a totally different Newcastle United to the one we all knew and loved/hated pre 16/3/25.

Liverpool have more need and probably pull. They're the greater concern imo.

Dripping like a fucked fridge watching that

Baba was saying yesterday that from what he had seen that he wasn't really ready to be the no 1 lone striker at a club yet so playing alongside someone is the best thing for him. After watching those highlights I can kinda see it now, lots of what he's doing is coming outside the box. Which again makes sense to why they're pursuing him so hard.
