Rarely bother with this thread or how Sunderland are doing in general but weren't they fighting for the playoffs at one point earlier this season?

Might have flirted earlier in the season, but it's now 3am in the club and even the fat munters have pulled and left leaving SAFC slightly drunk wondering what the hell happened

They were. Just before we dismantled them

Let's be fair, they dismantled themselves before we even arrived.

Moyes with a few quid gets these up, however that 15 year old chairman seems intent on that 13 year old ginger kid, should be fun

They couldn’t afford Moyes - the parachute payments ended a while ago.

Horrific end to the season for them. On Feb 10th they beat Plymouth 3-1 to go 6th, and their next 3 matches all looked very winnable:

But since then, P15 W2 D3 L10 F8 A20 GD-12 PTS 9

Wiki have it the wrong way round for the Sheff Wed game, but still the pinky lose colour.

Ended the season 6 points off relegation didn't they?

Yes. Very surprising. If super kev was in charge they'd be champions league and getting gates of 35,000

As bobby Murray said 'sunderland are the team of the north east, always one more seat than Newcastle'

Unfortunately polishing the turd is the stuff that remains in mackem dreams.

Id have more respect for them if there skant support held banners up saying 'sorry Newcastle, we all have a mental illness'

Will Still would be seen as a coup for them but, at the same time, going there outs him as a moron. And you don't want a moron in charge.

No idea if Will Still's any good, but gotta say, I do like the fact his names rhyme.

Still is a headline writers dream.

Imagine the headline if they really bought into him and finally had bums on all 49,000 seats?

Middlesbrough clearly in the North-East silver medal position over the last 32 seasons, in terms of average league position. NUFC's average finish is 11th (appreciate our season's not over, but doesn't really make a difference), MFC's average finish is 21st and SAFC pick-up bronze, in a three horse race, with 25th.

Their delusions of grandeur that inevitably lead to their own downfall never fails to amuse. What was their issue with Mowbray again? Playoffs not good enough?

Agree. Like Fay Wray or Jack Black.  But not Sean Bean.
