I always forget about the tickets and travel sub forum and it seems like others do!

Forest on sale Thursday - 125 points  :kasper: It sounds like we're only getting 2000!

Were getting 2,002 tickets which is pathetic really in a 30k  stadium which is always 10k short of capacity. Not sure why this growing trend has come in where clubs would rather have blocks of empty seats instead of paying supporters sat there. After all it is supposed to be a spectator sport is it not?

Clearly the 3,000+ or 10% of capacity rule doesn't apply in the Championship so I think we should go down the Leeds/Forest route and cut the away allocation when we play them up here. We can sell the tickets to Newcastle fans instead.

Because they will probably sell out the stadium for our game. Just like Leeds have.

That remains to be seen I suppose. Personally I don't think they will. We could sell out more of our home tickets to Newcastle fans so maybe it's a route we should go down as well. Just seems to be a growing trend this season. Villa kept a stand closed rather than give us more tickets as did Barnsley and as will Hull.

Good point that - we should give these 2000  so four blocks for the game up here!

What's the reason for giving us such relatively small allocations versus the clear demand?  Is it a case of opponents wanting to limit our fans impact on the atmosphere at the ground or are there practical issues, such as cost of increased policing/stewards?

Newcastle United have been in talks with Newcastle Brown Ale about becoming the club’s main sponsor again - according to the Sunday Mirror.

The Mirror report that United had attempted to resurrect one of the club’s most popular shirt sponsor deals but the Magpies have been unable to agree a deal with Brown Ale’s owners Heineken.

Imagine how many shirts we'd sell with Brown Ale on rather than Wonga?

They'd sell loads of shirts and get the fans back onside. Bring it on.

No thanks.  Don't even associate it with Newcastle now since it's made in bloody Tadcaster.

Strange attitude, like.

Would rather we got a sponsor that will provide the best commercial interests for the club than some nostalgic sponsor.

100% would prefer a top with Brown Ale on it, bet it would shift a truck load too, whatever we may lose in sponsorship from a morally corrupt corporation we'd probably gain in shirt sales. If either of those amounts make it to Rafa's available spend is a totally different question like.

Fairly sure commercial interests will be the bottom line.
