Owen's best spell for us was in that slightly withdrawn role behind Viduka and Martins. Looked like the only time the little cunt was arsed.

 

Such a shame we got Viduka when we did, was such a class player in his earlier years and even when he was at Boro. We still got some flashes of it but he was too far past it.

We also then started the next season with a really good draw at Man Utd and beat Bolton at home. Gutierrez looked incredible in that Man Utd game especially.

 

Things were looking really promising at that point, then the Milner stuff happened and Keegan was gone within a month.

Never minded Gullit, or had any bad feelings towards him. But listened to that Overlap episode yesterday and his section discussing Newcastle was absolutely enraging.

 

Timelines, facts, events, people... It actually becomes quite impressive and fascinating how all over the place he is
