canny fella, canny family, won us the carabou cup with that save.....

but fuck me he's a liabilty.

what was he even doing on their first, never mind the second?

Just major confidence issues with the lad imo. Has made a few fucks ups over his time but also as you rightly say helped win us the cup. Deserves nothing other than our support when he does fuck up tbh. But aye - we probably need better overall.

Both are crap - people couldn't wait for Pope to come back the last time around Ramsdale had a run of games during Pope's injury.

Makes no difference who is in between the sticks from now until end of the season, the soft goals will continue.

Ramsdale is a liability in the set piece era we find ourselves in.

Pope is a liability in the “playing out from the back” era we find ourselves in.

It’s just about who is going to make less goal causing errors. Pope is conceding soft and outrageous goals pretty much weekly now.

Nice guy, been a top servant for us and like all the cup winners should forever be held in high regard but we absolutely need to move on in the summer

He's always been a disaster with his feet but it was tolerated because the rest of his game was good, yet that part of his game is all over the place combined with the many howlers

If we fail to sign a keeper in the summer it would be absolute negligence

I like him but I think that might be a death knell for his time here. There have been other mistakes, but none as glaring and deflating as this.

We did try to replace him, but Trafford chose Man City, one of the lesser-talked-about woes from last summer.

Trafford looked nailed on for about two years to come here. Another defeat from the jaws of victory moment.

Last summer was full of them.

fees agreed with Ekitike, Sesko, Pedro, Trafford but none actually coming

In a way the summer before was even more brutal. Mitchell should have pushed forward on Guehi even at 60m. Even Khusonov in the Jan.  if we had Guehi we may have realised we had to sell Isak sooner as a big sale would have been necessary. Then we would have known a striker was needed asap and not just a Wilson replacement

Yep. Both shite and conceding so many poor goals from them has participated in killing key points of our games.

Whoever gets a run in the team my brain will convince me the other is better.

Still raging he managed to spill that tame shot perfectly into Beto's path

Same - just watched MOTD. The shot didn't have that much power - compare that to Tonali's.  Examples right there the difference a quality keeper can make.

All keepers make mistakes but with Pope his mistakes are always costly.  I think that at the moment that Ramsey is a better option.

Agree Pope’s mistakes have been costly and I think we need to replace him, but not sure I’d go as far as playing a midfielder there.

Eddie's next master stroke will be to put Woltemade in goal.

There have to be decent keepers to be had out there. The mackems found a very decent stopper who most people hadn't heard of. Not for £35 million either.

Love Pope but he’s been bad this season.  Defended him for a long time but it’s mistake after mistake now.

Would stick with him in the hope he discovers som confidence And form.

We have to stick with 1 keeper from now though. Chopping and changing will only dent their confidence

Yeah felt like he was the lesser of two evils earlier in the season and backed him but it's a becoming a few mistakes too many now.

Could play a Stormer if picked tonight but something tells me that won't be the case.
