Can't be mad at Isak at all really. He's done exceptionally well, and he's reached a level that commands huge wages on the market. Even with him leaving he'll get us a nice sum of money.

The only thing we have to ask of him and in fact insist upon is that he does not join any of these other clubs in the Prem. I don't think that is too big a request. And so both he and his agent need to figure that out and reach out to whichever other clubs interest them.

The absolute disgrace if this man ends up at Liverpool man. No way.

Unless his contract has a clause which says if he flops we can cut his wage so it works both ways then yeah, I can be angry with him.

Tbf we've done absolutely nothing to try and work around the rules either. It's all well and good bemoaning them, but other clubs, not just the cartel clubs are finding ways to work around them and to speculate to accumulate while we work within them, follow them to a T, and bear the cost of doing so.

Moaning isn't a solution

This is one thing I don't and have never understood.

We should be testing the rules.

Honestly feels like we're drifting rudderless right now, despite the great season.

If you genuinely feel we have done everything we can then fair enough, i would strongly disagree. Saying we are not a well oiled machine is a massive understatement imo, we are a mess off the pitch. If we where a proper outfit off the pitch, then the other things you mention may not be as much of an issue.

Are was a "complete mess" off the pitch though? Other than the conveyer belt of Sporting Directors, which admittedly isn't great, we seem to have made a bunch of progressive appointments over the past few years, which has increased our revenue 30% year on year, turned our existing training facility into something that is actually half decent, completely turned around the fortunes of the Womens side and revamped the youth department, and essentially turned us into a club that are actually ambitious, with a new stadium and training ground in the pipeline. Just because we appear bad at transfers, doesn't means its a "complete mess" behind the scenes.

Trying to set aside the emotional aspect, and looking purely at the long term, the inconvenient truth is that if the rules remain as they are, this is the nature of our club for the foreseeable future.

We get in top prospects, and if they become stars, we sell them at their peak value and then buy 2 or 3 more prospects with the funds. It's not guaranteed, it's not a science, it's a gamble. But eventually there's a point when we have so many good players that we've arrived.

We're in that gut-wrenching phase of being so close yet so far, we have tier-1 players but we can't afford to build the squad around them with only a net loss of £35m per season allowed. I don't think we sustain being a CL-level PL club by buying one £35m player a season and selling nobody, assuming our turnover covers our outgoings alone.

tl;dr, if Isak wants to go, now is the best time financially for the club, but we better as fk have a plan to bring in players to try to fill his shoes right now. I just can't believe we'd be going into next season without any strikers.

Think if Isak goes to Liverpool I’m pretty much done until something blows PSR away.

If they sell him for £150m outside of the premier league allowing us a few hundred million £ PSR headroom to strengthen the whole squad then I’ll be reluctantly fine with it.

either way it’s sucking the life out of everyone other than Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool fans

Reality is, if a player can double his wages by moving, he's going to want to move. But yeah, he signed a contract so we can hold him to it if we are firm.

Nah fuck that , if he is basically on strike to force through a move this summer then he can get to fuck . Is ways of going about getting a transfer and doing this isn't one of them . Would have a lot more respect for him if he just got on with it this season and got his big move next year.

PSR is a joke and it serves a purpose of stopping clubs from competing

However, we can't blame PSR for the reason we are going on a pre season tour with only 1 signing and no recognised striker

This summer window being shite as things stand is not just down to PSR, it's down to mismanagement

This bed wetter patter is shite. If you aren’t even slightly worried after everything so far this summer you don’t care enough

100% agree with everything here.

Man if we were more capable of transfers the thought of a £120-150m fee being reinvested would be slightly more exciting though [emoji38]

If it wasn't for PSR we could offer Isak 300k a week to stay. Do you think he would still want to move?
